I already changed the recording duration in the settings, as far as I know, but it still keeps saving everything as 8-second clips. This creates way too many separate files and makes it difficult to find specific footage. If an accident or incident happens, you usually need at least 1–3 minutes of continuous footage to see what happened before, during, and after the incident. Every detail can be important. The screen is held in the frame by three thin pieces of double-sided tape. For reasons that defy any sensible reason of engineering, the tape is set in recessed inlets in the back pane. This means that the tape does not have good contact with the back of the screen and air can get in, weakening the adhesive. The only other thing connecting the screen to the unit is two small ribbon cables. While driving through a residential neighborhood (aka not a bumpy road), the screen simply fell off. It tore away from the smallest of the two ribbon cables, snapping the connector in two. It cannot be repaired. The unit comes with a 12 month warranty. Unfortunately for me, I had waited too long to have the dashcam installed so I'm out the $300 for the unit plus the $150 that I paid to have it installed. Beyond that, this was a major pain to use with constant technical problems. Despite purchasing the SD card recommended by the manufacturer, the unit would insist on formatting it almost every day. Sometimes multiple times a day. The unit would not connect to WiFi, so there was no chance to find out if there was a firmware update to address it. I was also unable to get any video off of the unit, defeating the whole point of buying it in the first place. The reliability and stability of this product is garbage. I should have returned it day one. I simply did not enjoy connecting to the app, its interface, and how long it took to transfer videos over to my phone. I bought this one to try out another brand, I immediately missed my 70mai. The image quality was about the same as that older camera. No where near the quality of the newer ones. (I have other cars with the other brand installed) BUT, after almost 2 years, the camera died. Stopped recording. I think the summer heat got to it. And I live in PA, I’m sure those out west would die faster. So I went back to my old brand as they have been reliable.
