Found out its simply for pulling line once the knot is tied. Isn't completely useless for me as I'll use it occasionally, but not exactly what I was expecting. It is built of quality materials and the fit and finish is top notch. Threads are clean and smooth and the wrap on the tube seems to be pretty durable. Will definitely help with pulling snags loose, but I'll probably use it mostly for attaching leaders and tying flies on the leader. Since flies are so small and leave very little room to hold on, this will be great for cinching up the knot. The rest are junk. pavo*** I bought this set mainly for the nail knot tying tool and consider the zinger and the hook sharpener bonuses. The other two tools are not really of any interest to me. The knot tying tool is of a good size to hang from my vest and use without being what I consider to be overly large or too small and works well enough. It is the star of this set. The zinger is of decent quality. I would prefer it to have a metal cable instead of the string. But at this price point, what do you expect? The spool/coil spring combo is not very smooth and rubs inside the housing. I do not expect this one to last as long as my nicer ones do. But in the meantime it should work nicely enough. The hook sharpener is of a rougher grit but should be serviceable. The split ring tool/hook eye cleaner is cheaply made and I do not see myself using it at all. It will stay in the old spare tackle box as will the remaining tool from the kit.
