It has everything I think you'd want in a dash cam. It certainly had more than I was expecting, so I'm pretty happy so far. I did not install the rear camera because routing the cord looked like a multi-hour project in my SUV. And I live in Texas and it's mid-June. And I'm an old man. IYKYK. Regardless, the cabin camera actually provides a decent view out the rear and rear-side windows, so I may never bother. I like the fact it comes with a 128GB micro SD card. I can pop it out, pop it into the card reader on my laptop, and access videos. Files are organized into folders with names that don't require a degree in geek linguistics. Recording is continual and automatic, and videos are automatically saved in 1, 2, or 3-minute segments, depending on how you choose your settings. Because I don't need to memorialize my trip to Chick-fil-a from last year, I chose to automatically overwrite the oldest files. Video quality is really good, especially from the front, 4K camera. The only knock I have is regarding the instructions and the menu on the device. I think both could've been better written. This is a stretch, but it would be nice to be able to plug this thing into my computer and run through all the settings in a more intuitive menu. Include "fast start" written instructions. I bought the magnetic mount that's recommended on this page, but nothing on the camera's shell is even magnetic! Heat: Also, I ran this thing for half an hour and it felt too hot to touch on one side. I don't see any way this thing wouldn't melt itself if it ran for hours at a time on a hot dash, and the camera even has a warning not to let its temperature go above 130 degrees--ignoring the fact that it reaches that temperature just doing the thing it was designed to do, I don't know how the producer expects me to remove it from above my dash on hot days when it's supposed to be attached by adhesive. Picture quality: Although the colours are nice, the detail I could see in the camera does not give me confidence that it would be able to pick up license plates in distant or fast-paced scenarios. The screen issue was due to the Firmware/software update file I uses was wrong/bad. After they sent me a new file, I installed per the instructions and the screen now functions normally.. Regarding the emails being kicked back, seems I was blocked by their spam filter and they are looking into fixing that issue as well. Increasing rating from 1 to 3 stars for now until I have installed/used the camera in a couple of my cars for a bit (I ordered 3 cameras and hard wire kits). Has just enough weight you can tell it's not cheap parts. Rather easy install of both front and rear cam thanks to the included trim tool. From opening the box until completely installed was less that 45 minutes. Been using it for a couple days now and when reviewing the footage, it is crisp and clear. The only negative I have found is that when it powers off and comes on again, the WiFi turns itself off. It is more than worth it! 3 days after installing this dash cam I was involved in a car accident (I was rear ended) that caused extensive damage to the other car (likely totalling it) and costly damage to mine. I was able to pull up the rear dash cam video and show it to the police officer at the scene. He saw right away (due to the very clear image) that the other driver was distracted and on her cell phone. Without this video he might not have known that she was on her phone. It also proved that I was going a very reasonable speed (10MPH) in heavier traffic due to it's speed tracking capabilities. Juan S*** I was gifted this dash cam for Christmas. Installation was easy, and it seemed to work great at first. The app is a bit frustrating, but with some patience, I was able to retrieve files. After about three months, I noticed that every time I started my car, the camera would tell me the SD card needed to be formatted. Keep in mind, the camera said I had to format it earlier that same day. These weren’t long drives either... maybe 15 minutes at most. This happened consistently. A 15-minute drive should not fill up a 64 GB card. Recently, my friend was involved in an accident right in front of me, so I was relieved that I had a dash cam. Unfortunately, I spent nearly an hour trying to connect to the app and download the footage, but it kept failing over and over again. The app was incredibly frustrating. I disconnected the camera and went home so I could pull the video files directly from my computer. I inserted the microSD card, and of course, all I saw were folders and files with strange symbols in their names. The card was corrupted. My computer couldn’t read it. I tried on a mac and windows machine. I’ve spent the last few hours trying to recover the video files with data recovery software so my friend can provide them to his insurance company. Had to get an adapter, but now the plug on the camera is loose and camera keeps turning off on each little bump on the road. Hope they can replace the camera for me.
