The color scheme is immediately recognized; therefore a bit deterring to any thief with amateur tools. This U lock needs to be severed on both sides of the "U". One end will not "swing open". The key seems to open and lock the device fairly well so far. Yes it is heavy and pretty compact giving it the "heavy" stigma but there's no way around it. Due to the compact "U" design, this lock does not fit around my rear tire, a thick pole( poles are such a X factor in NYC) and my seat tube. I've improvised by getting the lock around the rim/pole/seat stays. I do not intend to ever have my bike locked up for long periods of time so this lock is very satisfactory but 2 locks/devices that would require 2 different techniques for a potential thief is your best bet. Alex*** I don't know if I'm just crazy, but when I watch the demonstration videos showing how to use this bracket, all of them seem to have an easy time sticking the D1000 into the lock. Sticking a DX1000 in it is pretty much anything but: there might be holes that allow you to set the bracket to the DX1000's width, but something about the measurements doesn't seem quite correct. The bracket seems to be literally bending just to fit the massive girth of the DX1000 in the mounting position. And don't get me started on the strap, either; the videos show the demonstrator having a real easy time just slipping the band around the D1000's shackle and hooking it. Meanwhile, I have to pull the band like I'm trying to rip the thing out of the bracket just to get it to stretch long enough to get the band to fit on the hook. Getting the thing back off again so I can use the lock isn't easy, either; if I'm not pulling on the tiny end with my fingers hard, that thing's not coming off. (But at least I guess that means the lock isn't wobbling too much when it's mounted, at least?) Probably the only thing that works as expected is...the connection to the third party adapter. That's nice, but it's not like all the engineering credit goes to Hiplok for that. Also going to cost you some extra money just to get an adapter in the first place, but if you NEED one, at least you can rest assured that it'll work. Pros: + Third party adapter connection seems to work fine + The fit is probably good enough to keep it from wobbling + If you're using this thing, at least it's not squishing things in your backpack or something Cons: - Feels like the lock itself is fighting being put into this thing (and the lock is somewhat winning) - Band requires enough force that it's not quick and easy to secure the lock B0FKZ3CS42 US

The little bolt covers came off & were lost. My bell was also damaged & now won't ring. Will have to get a replacement. I also advise everyone not to go too fast(speed) until you've adjusted & feel comfortable riding this powerful scooter. Make sure you purchase a good bike lock that also has a cable to securely lock you scooter. Overall I recommend this scooter for seasoned/experienced drivers/riders. This bike lock is as good as it gets folks. I did a ton of research and looked the world over and i finally settled on this. I live in a suburban area but there are a lot of business and alot of people that live here and we are just outside of the city. The problem i encountered was that i just bought a Trek road bike for 600 dollars and it is worth at least double all the bikes i would lock up next to at school. And i have had my bike stolen there before so i know theft is something to worry about. I figured that if i used this lock and also some component locks like Pinhead locks that no one would be able to steal anything on my bike. Since my bike is at least double the price of all the bikes around it i needed at least double the security. The thing about this lock is that it is thicker than any other that i have seen in my life. All locks can be cut or broken but you have to think like a theif would ;do i want to spend an hour getting a great expensive bike or spend five minutes with these cable locked cheap bikes and get 5 bikes. Sadly the idea is you dont have to out run the bear just out run the guy next to you if you get what i mean. I highly recommend this lock it is great and has kept my bike safe. Make sure to get a cable or additional lock to secure other things like your seat and your wheels. And if you don't feel like carrying two locks all the time get component locks there are tons out there and not too many people use them so the common thief doesn't know how to defeat it really which makes your bike much safer in my opinion. I bought it after I had a bike stolen from my dorm bike rack while using a (what I thought was thick) cable lock. After getting a new bike, I wanted to make sure to protect my investment and have peace of mind that I could leave it outside all night with no problems. I'm happy to say after several months of use, my bike and all it's parts are still intact! No thief in the area would/has bothered trying to go at the thick steel, but many other bike still commonly get stolen or have their wheels/seats removed. Great performance in a less than friendly bike locking area. One problem I did have with this lock however was that after having my bike sit out in the rain for a couple days, rust began to develop inside the lock where the metal bars meet the inside of the lock. Annoying issue that caused the lock to seize and not want to come loose, but was nothing that a little bit of WD40 couldn't fix.
