Ultral*** We have played hot-potato with this Mr. Sandman weighted blanket for nearly a month now in our household - everybody wants it! It's a huge hit! 15lb is a good starter weight for a weighted blanket, and the queen size is perfect because it's still fairly easy to wash and dry. The cover is polyester, so it won't breathe as nice as cotton, but it's so fluffy and beautiful feeling, I don't mind. It's always used on top of more breathable cotton sheets or comforters, anyway. Washing it was a cinch, which I was very concerned about given both the weight and size. It washed in our standard washer/dryer just fine, and after I tumbled it for 30 minutes, I simply hung it out to dry to finish drying. A lot of weighted blankets I've looked at are relatively small, so they don't provide much coverage if you're using them on a larger bed. The 80" x 87" size of this one was one of the main reasons I decided to try it. The first thing that stood out when I opened it was how soft and fluffy it is. The faux rabbit-fur material has a very plush feel, and the fleece construction makes this considerably warmer and cozier than a basic weighted blanket. If you're looking for something specifically for cold-weather lounging or sleeping, this is much more in that category than the lightweight, breathable weighted blankets I've used before. The 15-pound weight is noticeable without making the blanket feel excessively heavy. The glass beads provide the weight, and I like that the blanket doesn't make much noise when you move around. Some weighted blankets can have noticeable bead movement, but this one is relatively quiet. The king-size dimensions are another major positive. At 80" x 87", there's plenty of blanket to work with, and it doesn't feel like you're constantly fighting to keep the blanket covering you. Comfort: This is probably the strongest feature. The fluffy exterior is extremely soft and feels more like a premium plush throw than a traditional weighted blanket. It's particularly nice for watching TV on the couch or getting comfortable in bed during colder weather. Warmth: This blanket is definitely on the warm side. If you tend to sleep hot, I'd take that into consideration. For fall and winter, however, the thickness and plush construction are exactly what I wanted. Weight: The 15-pound version provides a substantial weighted feel while still being manageable. The weight is distributed throughout the blanket rather than feeling concentrated in one area. Quality: The stitching and overall construction appear good, and the blanket has a substantial feel rather than feeling thin or cheaply made. The combination of the plush exterior, fleece, and glass-bead filling gives it a more premium feel than I expected at this price point. What I like: Very soft, fluffy faux-fur exterior Generous 80" x 87" king-size dimensions 15-pound weighted design Glass beads are relatively quiet Warm and cozy for cold weather Good weight distribution Excellent blanket for lounging or relaxing Attractive cream-white color Feels more expensive than its price suggests What I'd consider before buying: This is a warm blanket, not a cooling weighted blanket. The fluffy material can attract lint, hair and other debris more readily than a smooth fabric. A 15-pound blanket is substantial, so consider whether that weight is appropriate for you before ordering. Because of the size and weight, washing and drying it may require more care than a normal lightweight blanket. Value: Assuming you're getting it at the typical price range for this type of blanket, I think the value is very good. Comparable weighted blankets can get surprisingly expensive, especially when you add a large size and plush construction. This one gives you the combination of size, weight and softness that I was looking for without feeling like you're paying primarily for a brand name. From my view: Seems like a very well made product! Heavier than I thought it would be and I personally would hate it but it's not for me. Size seems perfect for her. Kinda covers from chest to feet but not overhanging too far either. Comes in a little bag but I really doubt you could get it back into said bag. You could try and it would make it easier to store but it'll probably live on the couch anyway. No complaints on my end. The product matches the description and seems really well made and seems like a good value for what you get. Had no weird smells or anything. Seems good! From her view: Likes the color. Likes the shape. Likes the weight and say's that's supposed to be relaxing (yeah, I don't get it either). She says it's awesome and that's a good enough comment for me to give it 5 stars. The leaf design looks much better sitting out than a plain rectangle, and the soft fabric feels cozy right away. At 7 pounds it gives noticeable weight without being a monster to move around, so it works well across my lap The weight is evenly distributed and it is easier to move around under than a full-sized blanket. It is also easy to put back in the bag, which is nice for storing it or taking it along. Doesn't feel too hot, and we've just had a run of 113 degree days. Really happy with this one.
