The camera connections were snug to get on but worked. The amcrest recorder quit working just outside of the warranty and was replaced with a zosi which had useless buggy software and was noisy, it never recorded correctly and both the amcrest and zosi would only record a week or 2 of video. Now all that's left is to install the lamp, Easy! There is no glass covering the bottom of the opening so yes bugs will get inside. But if bugs do get in they will just fall out so no issues. The bottom needs to be open to change the bulb. I am very satisfied with this light and think it looks far better than the one it replaced. Having a place located in a different country this technology seems to be the most advantageous to me. 1. Product was on stock at the moment of the purchase it was shipped and delivered on time. 2. Online support provided on product's you tube channel was remarkable, clarifying feasibility and availability of frequency for country to be used. 3. Set up was very simple, however important note regarding sign up account on Vera's website is a must: trying to set up the controller for an external reason manual set up was selected making me skip the wizard, inputting address (country, city, postal/zip code), I introduced the address as i know with no success, after several tries i was able to find and address using a zip code locator where i could find the proper name of the city where i want to installed the controller. So the problem was not at the actual address rather city name. Advise: be very careful at the moment of setting the controller up, since I was doing this remotely the person that was actually doing the wiring thing did it wrong and make us go through the "set up manually" but if last option is to you to introduce all info required try to do some research on internet before getting crazy LOL. 4. After device paring was the next step, which i have to admit it was simple but required 2 tries for a successful pairing. (Maybe cause I was doing this remotely too). 5.Web site interface is very friendly i would say a rookie user would be able to go through all the step after watching some tutorial/videos and some common sense. 6.Response of the devise using web site interface is about 10 seconds so from my point of view if very fast and reliable (just used it about 30 time so far tho). 7.in specific case a zwave smart lock has been installed so far and is planned to install motion sensors, thermostats and a security camera (near future) which i planning to leave feed back too. Pros: Something that personally i appreciate was online support at selection moment, frequency availability. from hardware perspective: very intuitive for new user flexible and slick. from my personal point of view the fact that the internet connection is wired make me feel that connectivity and performance is more reliable that other controllers that are only wifi connected.. Fact that you can buy each accessory separately let the user create its own "security net" as required. Motions zones can be changed through the DVR settings. Still picking up moving shadows though. Plenty of wire is a plus. I don't see a point in wireless systems if you need to run a power source to them. Battery operated is a different thing too, but this saves the whole day on the DVR instead of just motion times. Even if my internet goes down, I can go back in time through my app and view every minute of the day when it comes back.
