Unfortunately, after giving them plenty of time, troubleshooting, and way more patience than they deserve, we’ve decided it’s time to move on. When we first installed them, we had Spectrum internet, and the cameras constantly lost their internet connection. We eventually switched to Starlink, which thankfully solved the connectivity issue. Unfortunately, it turns out the cameras have another problem that better internet can’t fix: they’re really bad at detecting the things we actually want them to detect. We have spent countless hours adjusting motion detection, sensitivity, zones, and pretty much every other setting we could find. Yet the cameras continue to miss important events with surprising consistency. Cars will magically appear on camera, but there’s no footage of them approaching. They’ll later disappear, but there’s no footage of them leaving. People will be captured getting out of a vehicle and walking into a house, but somehow the cameras never seem to notice them coming back out. The person disappears, the vehicle disappears, and apparently we’re just supposed to accept that they were abducted by aliens. 👽😂 We’ve also had wildlife show up on one camera, while the camera positioned in the exact direction the animal would have had to come from completely misses it. But insects? Oh, they NEVER miss an insect. Apparently, a moth flying 30 feet away is considered a Level 5 Security Threat. 😂 One morning, I woke up to 147 motion alerts overnight. I thought, “Wow, we must have had quite the eventful night!” Nope. It was a spiderweb blowing in the wind. 147 clips. One spiderweb. Apparently, our cameras are extremely committed to documenting the exciting nightlife of arachnids. 🕷️ But this morning was the final straw. The cameras recorded my husband leaving the house to go to Walmart. They did NOT record him coming home. So apparently the cameras are perfectly capable of documenting my husband’s departure, but when it comes to his return, they suddenly develop a severe case of selective vision. At this point, we have to laugh because otherwise we’d probably cry. 😂 A security camera is supposed to give you confidence that important activity will be captured. Instead, these cameras have left us constantly wondering what they missed while happily filling our storage with footage of insects, spiderwebs, and completely irrelevant movement. We’ve adjusted the settings. We’ve changed the internet. We’ve experimented with sensitivity and motion detection. We’ve given them plenty of opportunities to get it right. Unfortunately, they just aren’t reliable enough for what we need. We’re now researching other brands and will be replacing these. If you’re considering these cameras primarily for security, I strongly recommend doing your homework before purchasing. Unless, of course, your primary security concern is knowing exactly when a spiderweb moves across your yard. 🕷️😂 For us, it’s time to find cameras that actually notice when people and vehicles come and go. J*** I bought this because I didn't want to run an extended cord to an outside outlet...big mistake. On paper everything seems great, but the motion detecting is spotty at best. I understand that since it is battery-based it needs a couple seconds to wake up, but if it doesn't even catch someone walking up the steps...what is the point? In the picture, it will record cars driving around the close half of the circle and it will turn on pulling into the driveway (albeit late). It even caught someone pulling out of the driveway at the far end of the street. But out of someone either walking out onto the porch, up and down the steps or on the sidewalk a total of nine times just this morning, it recorded exactly twice, even with every detection setting turned all the way up. Each of these times the person was no further than 30 feet away, and one only registered as motion instead of a person. On the plus side, however, the image is fairly sharp for being 1080p instead of 2 or 4k, the solar does its job as it has shown 100% battery for three days running, and the setup is as easy as the rest of the line. If I was only focused on large items moving around it might be ok, but if I cannot rely it to even record someone walking up the front steps, then it's of no use to me. B0DBPBSYMQ US
