It's a tad thinner than I would have expected but still seems pretty tough. The inclusion of a secondary cable is reassuring, as is the Key Registration scheme and the Bicycle Registration scheme. If the lock fails, they'll cover the cost of your bike, so they say. Which gives added peace of mind. The mount is great, relitavely easy to install it holds the lock very firmly, doesnt budge at all. Note that this is a larger lock, allowing you to lock the back wheel and frame. But this does mean you may have trouble mounting it on the centre frame of your bike. I have mine mounted next to the front wheel instead. B016GZWRY4 US

this bike lock [$68.19 4 Decent lock, but ALL locks have their weakness Drew P*** I owned one of these locks for about 5 years, worked flawlessly almost the entire time (have known people who've experienced pretty severe jamming) and as far as I knew it was brutally difficult to break or pick. About ten days ago I lost my keys somewhere somehow at or near work, and like a dummy I didn't register them when I purchased the lock (very stupid on my part). My bike was locked to the rack outside our building (I work in a warehouse in a decent area of Boston) and I honestly had no idea what to do (forced me into walking and bus commuting for a while, it was awful). After researching the heck out of it, asking other cyclists, and bothering my co-workers about it I finally got some help from a maintenance guy from the next door parking garage. The reason I'm writing all of this is because he brought his cordless angle-grinder and cut right through the thing in about 15 seconds. No exaggeration, it was like butter. I was surprised, I mean, I knew they could be cut if someone was determined and had the right tools, but this angle-grinder could easily be carried around in a back pack or something and it was so quick I doubt hardly anyone would notice it (there are a TON of pedestrians near where my bike was locked and no one even glanced at us when he fired that thing up). If you live in an area where bike theft is high, do not use just this lock. I'd highly recommend using two locks and possibly a cable as well if you're going to leave your bike anywhere for an extended amount of time (requires more time and different tools to break them all). It's nothing against Kryptonite, or this specific lock, but there's just only so much you can do with hardened steel. I plan to buy another one of these ASAP to use in tandem with the Kryptonite Mini I just got. Kryptonite makes great stuff in my experience, but you can't expect anything to be totally indestructible. In other words, great lock but one is not enough. B09MJN999X US

I can't imagine it possible to break through this without special tools and being very obvious and taking a long time. It is a bit heavy but it has to be. The size is perfect for me to attach it to a regular bike rack going through my front tire and the body of my hybrid bike, and the body of my bike is thick. Some racks are thicker and I can only get it around the body. This is good, you don't want any extra room or a thief can get leverage and pry the bike lock apart. (Though I doubt that anyone could very easily pry this beast apart even with good leverage). The reason I give it only four stars is because the insurance is a joke. They will only pay up if you have a receipt of the bike (so nope, can't use it with my craigslist bicycle), if you have the broken lock (so you're screwed if they take the lock), and if they used power tools...really? Like I'm concerned about someone wire clipping or leverage twisting this thing?!! The only way you could break this thing is with power tools! So the warranty is completely useless. Just sell it as is and don't fake that you've got our back when something goes wrong. That's just covering their own butts for manufacturing errors, which should be covered no matter what.
