I believe that these cameras are not made to tolerate extensive sunlight. The manufacturer should be aware of this matter!! Malfunctions on two cameras within 12 months of each other. I installed it on a midsize truck originally, but now have it on my Ram 2500 and still had plenty of slack for both cams' wires. I even got one for my mom's Sorento SUV and had plenty of slack for both cams as well. Don't forget the rear bracket if you are removing it to install it on a new vehicle tho... They don't sell just the bracket so I had to order a whole new rear camera. That's the only reason for a 4 star rating. The cams themselves are 5 star. There are many features that the dash camera has that are important. Before installing on your vehicle power up the camera and install the app to your phone and then experiment with the setting and with the app on your phone. This way IF (and you will) you have a problem you can search and find a solution to a problem before the install. Ensure that you remove all the coverings from your camera first. I used the static sheet to install on my truck and not directly on the windshield, So install was static sheet first then install the camera on to the static sheet, Also route your power cable before install. Over all the camera seems to work great. Now for the challenges. Removing that #M protector sucks! I do wish there was a suction cup option with the camera. So mounting the camera, other that the 3M deal was good. Also, before mounting the camera pair your phone and camera via WiFi and you can see what your video will look like you can move the camera lens up and down but not sideways after install. Value for money? I believe it will more than pay for it's self. One question one might ask, would I buy the camera again? Fast forward to June 2026. One of the cameras stopped recording. I contacted Rove’s customer service. They were excellent. They walked me through every troubleshooting step. They were patient with me and worked around my schedule. After exhausting every avenue of troubleshooting, they decided to replace the camera even though I was 6 months past the warranty.
