That's a completely useless step bc those supports have to go in the cubbies otherwise they wouldn't stay up. What sense does it make to put screws into supports just to have to remove them to put the supports in place and then screw them into the board that supports them. Fix your instructions. Precut the carpet. Drill better holes. Once I got it together, it's great. The carpet is soft but it's not thick. My cats aren't sure what to think about it yet but I'm sure they will come around.
