A few things I did expect were the chain on the train sticking a little. The wheel doesn’t sit 100% level. But everything works at once. The train moves, the ferris wheel goes around and the lights are on. That’s really cool. To some the loud motor may be a problem, but I’ve built these kits before and I feel the sound is acceptable.It’s a toy. It’s not a computer. I had a great time with it during the five days it took me to build. I only spent 2-4 hours a day so you may finish faster. Floor to bottom of frame was 32&3/4”, so I ordered the 36” long set and hemmed them to 32.25”. They look great and hide his things as intended. * FYI for those looking to do the same: Clearance under top-set dorm beds is not consistent. My son measured his, his roommate’s, and a few other beds set to half-loft ( highest). Identical looking beds in the same corridor of the same dorm had clearances of 28-33”. I used a sewing machine to hem his, but another mom used permanent double sided hem tape. So far, it is holding and something she did while her son unpacked. The curtains lost a star because if I hung them on windows, I’d have been annoyed that the original hems weren’t totally straight. It was brought to my attention that almost no one would have noticed. This was the first time I hemmed curtains with a sewing machine and mine were straighter with no puckering. However, after an afternoon of research, these bobbins will work in my machine safely as they are cardboard. Plastic is not recommended. My L bobbins fit in a metal bobbin case, and I noticed that I needed to adjust the tension a bit tighter on the bobbin case as the thread seemed a bit thin and the tension was too loose using the “hanging” test. I do enjoy the convenience of the time saved in not having to stop periodically to wind bobbins and somehow I think these prewound bobbins are more balanced than me doing them and seem to enable my machine to stitch more evenly. I've never seen this type before - all the threaders I've ever used in the past were the ones with an aluminum handle and a flexible thin-gauge wire diamond-shaped loop that actually went through the eye of the needle to facilitate pulling the thread through; while these have a thin and very small stiff metal hook that's inserted through the eye to catch the loop of thread and pull it through. The two pleasant surprises were the smooth rubbery wheels, like roller skate wheels, which make movement smooth and comfortable, and the fabric the stool is covered in, which is a lot nicer looking and feeling than I was expecting. The flat fabric doesn't want to stay in the channel because there's no tension, it doesn't contact the feed dogs much. Here is Product Dimensions: 5.4 x 2.9 x 2 inches --What I got is about 6 centimeters width, not 5.4 inches!!. With the reduced price of $1.74, it still does not worth buying. 2. The fabric of the emery part was very bad. I tried to sharpen my sewing needle size 18. It created a hole and the little black emery sand keep falling off little by little. Bad quality!! 3. The green strings were out of the bottom center--such a bad quality. I do not know why Amazon sell this product. I feel disappointed spending money on this unprofessional made product. It is not about the money but the quality and wrong information about the product dimension that annoy me. Too bad it does not worth an effort to pack and return this product just to get $1.74.
