They don't get crazy loud but they are supposed to protect your hearing so ... They're loud enough for me to hear fine over my riding lawn mower with loud blades and my very manly leaf blower. One thing I noticed that I saw other people mention is that they could come down further on your ears. I have an average or smaller than average head size so this isn't a problem for me but if they were any smaller they wouldn't fit correctly. If you have a larger than average sized head I really don't think these are a good choice for you. They also sit a little close to my ears so I guess if your ears stick out a little or a lot this could be uncomfortable. I honestly haven't though too much about sound quality and I can be a little obsessed with that. I like a good quality set of speakers. I'm generally just happy to have some music while I work. 3 GREAT SOUND PROTECTION.... HOWEVER Tom*** Awesome ear protection across the board, but I do have a few things to point out (may not apply to someone based on what they are shooting). I found that shooting my rifles these earmuffs can be quite annoying in a sense that they get in the way of the rifle stock.... I would much rather use the cheap ear foams instead when shooting rifles. Also my AR15 is still super loud with these... idk if they are just made for pistols or smaller calibers or what. Besides that, these are great for pistol shooting and still even rifles, just keep in mind what I described above!
