I use them for shooting sports and I will often combine them with a set of soft foam ear plugs. By combining the two you get excellent hearing protection. The ability to adjust the active dampening also allows you to hear the range instruction during matches. The low profile will also help those that shoot rifles. It allows proper cheek placement on the stock without interference. If you wear eye protection or prescription glasses, these may create a pressure point if the temple frames are thick. I wear glasses with thin metal temples and I do not notice any discomfort. Overall I am very satisfied with these and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. B002SW3EZG US
