This product desperately needs a mounting template so take your time. Fortunately I was able to catch a stud on one side but the wall anchors they provided a very low quality. You will need a drill, level, drill bit (5/16" if you use their anchors), tape measure, pencil, and optionally a stud finder. I highly recommend mounting this into a stud at least on one side if possible. When writing on the board it's a bit flexible especially in the center but nothing that can't be adjusted too. Squeeeeak No More Kit Eliminates Floor Squeak Through Carpet (Multi) 1 Didn't work for me Bryan *** Was debating for a while if I should get this or not. I finally decided to get it and tried to use it to remedy some major squeeks in the Master Bedroom on a carpeted floor. I followed the instructions. Used a stud finder to locate joist and confirmed with their joist finding "tool". I installed several screws along the joist and spaced them 4 inches apart (confirming each screw placement with the tool provided) and also the joist past where the squeek was located When I installed the screws I bore as much weight as possible to collapse any space between the subfloor and joist until the screw bottomed out in the depth fixture Unfortunately there was no change in the squeek. It still resides in the floor, same location, same quality, same annoying spot. I wished this worked for me and my house built in the early 70s but unfortunately I had no squeek relief. The product had great instructions and seemed easy to use. My ratings are based solely on my experience. Wish I could rate higher but with the outcome I recieved I had to give them a low rating. Water pipes show up very clean. The electrical symbol isn't much more accurate than the ones on nicer stud finders, but by moving it up and down in between studs, I find wire every single time.
