Bad humor. I purchased my first feeder earlier this year. It would not drain properly into the feeder, the smaller than soda bottle screw on clear feeder would not seat right and have to tap it to let it get air to drain to feeder. A month or so and it started leaking. The base snapped together. Then it would quickly get mold, it was hard to clean, really hard. Nectar came out of the little flower openings... a mess. Then I purchased a more expensive one. Hard to clean, easy to spill small spout into the base and both had push-on flower feeder openings that would turn and hard to clean the little flowers ... period. When I ordered the First Nature 16 oz. feeder, I did not know what to expect. I was very happily surprised at the quality. Screw on base. Molded feeder spouts and smooth ... to make cleaning easier. Base is roomy and with no molded wells in them and leak free. Top is clear plastic with a large opening I can easily clean with a cloth or paper towel ... in a split second.... maybe 15 seconds to be exact. Even the included hook is a carabiner type hook to secure on the feeder. Not just a hole to put a string through. I will order again and it will be a First Nature feeder. Since it is very close to the house, we just get the bolder birds, mainly house sparrows, chickadees, and cardinals, maybe the occasional wren. The cardinals send it swinging a bit, but they don't seem to mind. The sparrows will get five at a time around it, though once I saw seven for a second or two. Surprisingly, even larger birds like blue jays and larger cardinals do not weigh too much, so it works fine to feed them. (Chipmunks CAN eat from this without closing the mechanism, but they're pretty cool looking and don't decimate the food supply like squirrels do, anyway.) My bluebirds went right in and had no problems getting out. I didn't even see the grackles today. It will be so nice not having to jump up and chase them away all day. Rugged Ranch Squirrel Trap, Live Animal Catch & Release Cage, Squirrelinator 4 Great Product Denver*** I have trapped all kinds of animals in live traps for many years. I live in a rural Colorado area with many ponderosa pines and many red squirrels in my yard. The reds have multiplied to the point we have fewer birds and Abert mountain squirrels visiting our bird feeders. Time for a few dozen reds to be relocated to another area. This trap was purchased for this reason and found to do the job well. Using peanuts as bait and leaving the peanut just under the interior end of each door to the trap works best. My only complaint is that on several occasions the squirrels escaped. Apparently, if left in the trap (cage) for many hours the squirrels were able to lift the trap door and escape. The two doors simply drop down using their weight. This trap works best if you can monitor it every several hours to see if you have one in it. I would give it 5 stars if the escape issue would be addressed and something used to keep the doors closed after making entry into the trap. Nice Trap and worth the money!
