Ultra Scented Cat Litter 3 Something's different..... thewi*** Something is going on here. I have been using this for my cat for a year and a half now and have had NO problems. None! Actually my cat, Wallie and I, LOVE this litter!! It is... WAS...the BEST. But something is going on....it has ALWAYS been...finer. Amazingly not enough to be a mess, but to perfectly clump. And not let the urine get to the bottom. But not now. Something is going on!! This last bag of litter sent through my usual auto ship was....rough litter.(And my cat Wallie Gus will attest to that as she is a TOTALLY indoor cat... as in... runs AWAY from the door lol So 'we' have had a tad problem with the rough litter on 'our' delicate toes!) I also did not think it was very lightweight; it seemed, by volume, to be heavier than some other litters, but that may have been a trick of perception. It started a little while after I switched from Nature's Miracle natural clumping (which is corn) to World's Best (which is also corn). Even though I switched from a corn litter to a different corn litter, the vet thought my kitty might be having an allergic reaction to the corn in the World's Best. So after much research and not being thrilled with any of the other litter alternatives available, I decided to give Smart Cat a try. I was skeptical about its clumping ability and especially about its ability to prevent the "cat pee + litter" smell....you know, because it's made from grass. However, this has turned out to be, hands down, the best litter on the planet (I've tried many others than just the other two I mentioned above). No dust at all, and the clumping ability is absolutely fantastic!! Even when my kitties dig around and leave a huge pile of litter in one area of the box and a super thin pile in another area and then decide to pee a whole day's worth of pee right on that thin layer, and then don't cover it up,....the thin pee clump still totally sticks together when you scoop it. Thin clumps, giant, thick clumps...they all clump like glue, folks. You don't even have to scoop gently. Odor control is great too. No pee smell; no litter or perfume smell. To me, Smart Cat litter smells sort of like mild popcorn (though it does not contain corn) and only when you're next to it...sort of similar to World's Best but without the whole "barn" smell. All this being said, no product is perfect. However, I've only come up with two cons for Smart Cat. Con 1: it does track a little more because the granules are pretty small, but honestly I'm not sure a litter exists that doesn't track. Con 2: I can only buy it online, as it's not sold in any pet store near me. We're still waiting to see if my kitty's rash clears up from not using a corn litter, but as long as he doesn't suddenly become allergic to Smart Cat, I won't use any other litter from now on. D*** I used to use Purina Tidy Cats as it was available at BJs. I used it for years. I always had an issue with urine. I bought Fresh Stop on Amazon (mistakenly..not sure how or why I actually bought it. Maybe I was drinking?) and it arrived. I have two litter boxes side by side. I put the Fresh Stop in the right box and kept using my old brand in the left box. My cats immediatly started using the Fresh step and stopped using the Tidy Cat. After 5 or 6 days I just threw out the Tidy cat. Fresh step is extremely low on dust. This is great for me when I clean the box and I am sure its good for the cats when they are scratching around.
