BUT, I continued to give it a chance and learned a bit about how to optimize its usage. What it isn't great for: cat litter - we use arm&hammer - the suction doesn't like it for some reason and it tends to spit out if you try to reverse. BUT, it works a bit better if you just move continually forward. This is made easier by the very swiv-able head, so if you get a riding lawn mower motion going on, you're in a much better place. What I DO like about this is that it's great at picking up pet hair and crumbs. Again, it functions much better if you continually move forward, not back/forth over one area. It also does well with standard kitchen/door mats. It doesn't lift up as it cleans, because the suction isn't strong enough. It's also very comfortable to hold - I can get my 5 year old to use it (he asks) and not worry that he's going to hurt himself or anything else and he feels like he's helping. It is also easy to plug in and charges well. To sum up: Pros: -Very light and comfortable to use -Fine and easy for young school-age kids to use -Easy to assemble/disassemble -Great for picking up pet hair, crumbs, and vacuuming rugs/mats -Light (all vacuums should have a head light) -Cordless (hard to find a decent cordless that doesn't cost a fortune) -Two suction settings, though I feel the difference is minimal, at best Cons: -Learning curve for keeping it from spitting out the back (just don't reverse) -Doesn't pick up cat litter (at least not the kind we use, Arm&Hammer) well, even when avoiding reverse motion -Not high suction ability Overall, I'd say considering what it offers alongside its limitations, it's a tad overpriced - which is why I was going to return it. But with Covid, returns just aren't easy right now and my scale tipped toward keeping it, all things considered. Consider purchasing on sale.
