It is very expensive so we thought this will work great especially since I'm pregnant I cant be around litter and be cleaning it. So less work for my husband. We had to buy another cat litter box for our cats in addition to this one because they would use it very often which makes it leak and go outside of the litter box. Can tell where they peed at by crystals changing color and doesn't smell. Pros: it scoops itself after the cat goes to the bathroom. It doesn't stink unless its needing to be changed. My cats understood the cat litter box really quick from their old litter box. Cons: the cat scooper does get stuck/stop mid cleaning cycle if my cat buries the poop and is not at the level the litter should be at. the cat litter urine leaks onto the floor after multiple uses which is a pain to clean which makes our cats think it's okay to go outside the litter box. Had to buy another normal litter box so they wouldn't go to the bathroom on the floor. Have to use dog potty pads for under the litter box so if it does leak it's easier to clean up. The litter is expensive like 40$ for 3 trays. Honestly I would just save the money if you have multiple cats that pee and poop a lot or have more than 1 litter box just in case 1 cat wants to use this litter box and another wants to use a normal litter box. That's what my cats are like my husbands cat he likes the normal cat litter box and my cat she likes this fancy one. So if it's just for 1 cat it's a good litter box. I don't smell any scent and I do like that you can see the crystal's change color of where they peeded and they dont stink unless it needs to be changed or it leaks.Hope's this help everyone that's wanting to buy this litter box. When they get full, I use an electric hoist to lower them to ground level for dumping. I bought a couple newer ones on Amazon and tried using one on the balcony, using my winch and a rigging strap threaded between the two handles. Instead of remaining round, the two handles just squeezed together, elongating the rim of the can so severely I had to quickly set it back down before the sides tore open. J*** I have 4 cats, so I will never find out which one prefers to pee on the floor outside the cat litter boxes (there are 4 boxes, cleaned twice a day). I finally stumbled on the idea of training pads, which are made for puppies, not cats. I tried many varieties... they soaked through, or tore, or were too small. Finally: Simple Solution Puppy Training Pads. They are strong, even when the cat in question scratches and paws them after doing her duty. I converted one of the litter trays (the low-sided variety) to a box lined with these pads. I stack them 7 deep and use bull-dog clips to attach them to the sides of the box. Each day the top-layer (if used) is removed and the next clean one revealed. Problem solved! (except for the errant cat who is now trained to pee on a pad). One comment about packaging, however. The cardboard box as pictured was not over-wrapped or boxed, and when the package came, it looked like it'd been smashed by a car (and very heavily taped up). Only a few of the pads were destroyed and I needed the remaining 95, so I didn't complain. B004E8M7PK US
