Gregory *** I was excited by the fact that this is wireless and that it had an app with which to operate remotely. On my “maiden voyage” (first use) I was cooking meatballs in my toaster oven. First, I kept getting messages that the probe was not inserted into the meatball far enough, so I pushed it in further. Then, once the probe was clear through the meatball, it gave me some other message. Ground meat lacks the consistency of a solid cut of meat, i.e., not ground, like my meatballs, so when I had pulled it halfway back the opposite direction, the weight of the probe caused it to start sagging, so again, I removed it and put it in another meatball. But the last straw was when I finally got the probe properly placed in a different meatball, and closed the door of the toaster oven, it sent me a NEW error message: THAT THE PROBE WAS OVERHEATING!!!! This was with the cooker set at 450°. I normally preheat my gas grill to 550° or so. Obviously, if this tool could not function at 450°, 550° would have likely melted it or otherwise destroyed it. What good is a meat thermometer if it is not designed to withstand normal cooking temperatures? Save your money—a return trip to the Amazon stall at Whole Foods—and a lot of aggravation-and just buy anything other than this, that is actually HEAT TOLERANT. B0CB37WZ5H US
