Had to wait a couple of days to get larger bottles. Testing it now, and they refuse to seal. When the cycle stops, and I removed the device, the lid remains in the device. No sound of any seal being broken when removing the device. Already thrown away the packaging, so I guess I will just toss it. I don't need to seal small bottles. UPDATE-UPDATE--- This was a new case of Ball Canning Jars, so no expectation anything was wrong with the jar. After leaving my scathing 1-Star review, I went and got another bottle. Worked perfectly. Tried old bottle again, No Joy. Tried wiping with moist rag, changing supplied lids. Wouldn't seal. I BLAME THE JAR, NOT THE SEALER. Side Note: Factory (Ball) lids that came with the jars were 50/50 for holding a seal. Sealer supplied lids were 100% (with a good jar). It does have the benefit of sizing the bag to the meat being sealed, which then takes up less space in the freezer than ziplocs due to all the air being removed. Freezer space is always at a premium in our house, so it makes a lot of sense. Build quality isn’t anything remarkable; it’s mostly plastic, but it feels durable enough. The bag openings are a bit on the small side which can make packing them slightly difficult, but they’re fairly thick and don’t rip or tear easily. For some reason the vacuum seal portion is square instead of round. So when using it with the included bags with raised vacuum ports it is much more difficult to completely cover the port. The suction is strong, and the dual-pump system creates a tight seal quickly. I especially like the double heat seal, which gives me extra confidence when sealing meat or other foods for the freezer. The Extra Moist mode is very useful for meal prep and foods with some liquid, and it works well for sous vide bags too. The FreshTrack label printer and food management app are also nice additions. Being able to label packages and keep track of what is stored makes organizing the freezer much easier. The machine has several features, so there is a little more to learn compared with a simple vacuum sealer, but once set up, it is straightforward to use. Overall, it is a versatile and powerful option for meal prep, bulk food storage, sous vide, and reducing food waste.
