Forget the hand pumps - pop the properly-sized attachment to the back and you're blowing things up - balloons, decor, kiddie pools, whatever. It took several hours to charge, and while I can't say how long the battery would last with constant usage, this had plenty of juice to handle all the stuff we needed for cleanup, decorating, and more cleanup. I like everything else about the vacuum, and it has great suction. My kids love using it which is a plus as well. It is a bit too loud for my liking, but it gets the job done.
