Padyrytu Acrylic Keyboard Tester 12 Clear Plastic Keycap Sampler for Cherry MX Switches 3 Mystery switches, includes duplicates ever*** I was getting ready to take my first dive into mechanical keyboards and wanted to try a wide array of Cherry switches, so this tester caught my attention by providing 12 switches for around the price of many 9 switch testers on Amazon. (For whatever reason, as of now, stepping up from 9 to 12 usually roughly doubles the price.) The lack of reviews on this unit was a little concerning, but because the seller had answered previous questions, I decided to give it a shot. The switches do appear to be authentic plate-mount Cherry switches, but don't come labeled, or even inserted into the acrylic holder, and a lot of the gray/silver/black colors look similar, so I tried matching them up to the info the seller had provided in the Q&A section. Unfortunately, if you check the two answered questions, the seller used a different naming structure in both answers. (Also, I'm assuming "Joseph N" is the seller, because no other list of switches appears on the page.) I don't think either of the switch lists matches what I received. Using online resources, plus more trial and error than should be necessary, I think I've managed to work out what I got: Red Silent Red Blue Green White Clear Brown Black Silent Black Silent Black RGB Speed Silver Speed Silver RGB I had immediately noticed the inclusion of two RGB switches, but it took me a while to realize that the two RGBs are actually duplicated by their standard versions, significantly reducing the value proposition of this expanded set. The inclusion of a puller tool is a nice touch, but is unnecessary for interacting with the tester when you can easily pull them out by hand. Hale*** I got this keyboard after I had gotten out of my 60% keyboard phase, and wanted something that was hot-swappable, bluetooth compatible, and affordable. I already have the 60% version of this keyboard, which I love, so I figured for the price point I should try this one. Removing the pcb from the case is very easy, and removing the switches is as well. There is a plastic skirt around the case which is removable as well, but it's a little trickier to remove. It isn't necessary to take it off if you are simply trying to access the inside of the case, though. The mods I did on this board were injection lubrication of the switches, which I was nervous about because I had never done it before, but it worked beautifully. Lubing the switches was absolutely necessary as they are extremely scratchy and somewhat ping-y (I got browns). I also inserted foam into the case to dampen the sound, and I clipped and lubed the stabilizers, which as-is, are not too bad. Overall, if you are buying this to modify it, this is an amazing deal. It's easy to mess with, has long battery life, decent rgb capabilities, and is very inexpensive. If you're not looking to modify anything and are looking for something high-quality out of the box, then you might want to look elsewhere. However, at this price it would be difficult to find much better. Keep in mind that if you are not looking to mod it, this is a plastic keyboard with pretty below-average stock keycaps, and scratchy switches, but if you want to change things like I did and fine tune things to your liking, this is the perfect keyboard for that!
