Historically, PC keycaps sound cheap, thin and clacky, but not the good kind of clacky. These actually sound on par with their PBT counterparts, which really surprised me. The tops are frosted and translucent, which is a bit unusual in ABS keycaps, while the rest of it is transparent. Legends are front-facing, so keep that in mind if you're one of those people who really wants their alphabet legends to be right up top so that you can see which keys you're hitting. The font is... meh. Someone needs to hire me to design keycaps, seriously... I would never pick 90% of these terrible fonts that are being used. These are a decent thickness and really let a lot of the RGB shine though, though obviously, everything is seen through a purple-tinted lens. I LOVE the way RBG looks through these, and that's as a person who is not that into RGB either. These have enough keys for standard layouts, but beware that if you have any kind of unusual layout at all, this kit probably won't cover for it, so you may end up needing to mix and match or if you decide you want to use whatever is in this kit to make it work, you might run the risk of having keycaps that are the wrong height for whichever row they're in. Not the end of the world (I've certainly done it), but it's not ideal. SteelSeries Apex 350 Gaming Keyboard, 5 Zone RGB LED Backlit 5 Most versatile keyboard ever Robert *** I have had my Apex 350 for only 2 weeks, but my experience so far has been wonderful. The keyboard is solid and does not slide around on my desk, thanks to the provided rubber feet (2 sizes for different angle of tilt). The look and layout are excellent. The 5 color zones are just enough - I personally use the fifth zone (the Steelseries logo area) to identify the layer I am currently using and have the other 4 assigned permanently to the left, top, right, and central key areas. There are two major "macro" areas - The 14 keys on the left(4 for the layer choices) and the 12 "m" keys on top, arranged over the standard function keys. That said, ANY key on the keyboard except the extreme right column (playback/volume keys) is programmable! The Steelseries Engine 3 software is extremely flexible and easy to use, and provides more functionality than any other I am familiar with (including Logitech, which I use a lot and also like, but this is better). There is no need to use the Layer keys for their assigned purpose if you would rather have them as extended macro facilities, for example. This is easily the most flexible keyboard I have ever encountered. This is a membrane keyboard, NOT a mechanical one. That said, it is nearly silent, and very responsive. The true FPS purist may find a good mechanical keyboard better suited to that class of gaming, but this keyboard is more than adequate for anything else and is ideal for MMO gaming - which is how I use it. The keyboard and the macros I have written have worked perfectly and reliably since I installed them. Programming macros is easy and intuitive, with a couple of exceptions. Not all keys (especially those designated as macro keys as compared to the standard letter/number keys) seem to react the same way to "press and hold" macros. It's hard to explain - I won't try here - but not a major problem as other keys can be chosen which do work as desired. All in all, this is the best keyboard I have ever seen for gaming. It feels a lot more refined than the Cherry MX Blue keyboards that I had. The membrane mechanical results in an actuation with limited pressure, which is excellence. The only recommendation I have is to get the Chroma over the Elite version. I first bought the Elite version but found that with the low contrast digit on the keys, I was compelled to turn up the brightness. However the green illumination of the Elite was highly distracting. (No Reviewer*** (I left this same review for the Drevo Caliber v2). Let me start off with how badly I wanted to love this keyboard. The 70% keyboard is EXACTLY what I'm looking for in a compact keyboard. The full size keys and arrow keys are hard to find on the market right now. Unfortunately the keyboard stabilizers have to be the worst in the market and make the loudest ping noise I've ever heard. I tried a few different ways to fix them/mitigate the noise (I even got key dampeners but that didn't help at all) but since the switches are soldered to the board there's no way of getting to the wire to really fix the issue. The key caps that come are pretty weak as well. I believe they are ABS keycaps and with almost every good board these days, PBT double shot keycaps should be included. This is also an exact clone of the Drevo Caliber v2 (which I got as well when I bought this keyboard). The only difference is that the RK71 is wireless and and on the Drevo you can choose to get cherry mx switches. My last grief with this board are the brown switches that come with it (I got Otuemo switches). They sound nothing like my kailh box brown switches I have on another board. Important to note that the keycaps don't really shine through well, I don't have a full RGB keyboard and would not recommend this keycap set to someone who does and uses the RGB as most of the keys block the light. Only my capslock and scroll lock have lights and you can't see the capslock unless you lean forward over the keyboard, the scroll lock is more visible when lit but not to the point of it making sense to use these keycaps for a full rgb keyboard. I've written probably 20 pages since getting them with no issues at, note that if you are going to be using o-rings you will probably want to double up as the crossbeams on the bottom have a notch cut out around the post (to allow wide switch compatibility presumably, but the end effect is orings don't make much difference unless you stack them with my cherry mx reds. I was tired of hearing the worlds loudest spacebars being pressed and this is HOTSWAPPABLE. so I could put in silent switches if I want to. This is WAY better than anything the larger brands have to offer and even better than most prebuilds. The only keyboards I have which I'd say are better than this cost significantly more at $300 for a budget custom and a $450 Dygma Raise. This is in a higher class than anything Logitech has. It's better than my Ducky one-2-mini, miles quieter than my DAS acoustic echo chamber, I have 3 Logitech keyboards this thing destroys. The 65% layout is perfect imo. I live in excel and outlook BUT I don't need or use a number pad. If I have to do a lot of number data entry, I personally use a separate numpad as I use my left hand for those so I can keep my right hand on the mouse. but those days are very rare. Keep in mind, there are no Function keys. you have to press the Fn key then a number to get whatever F key you want. I never use the F keys so.....i like having more space. it has a detachable USB-C cable along with 2 passthrough usb-A ports. those are pretty handy as 1 port is for a wireless mouse and the other is for a volume knob/media control macropad I have. The stabilizers are pretty good and come pre-lubed so there isn't any rattling on the larger keys. I haven't taken it apart yet, but if feels like they put a thin layer of rubber on under the stabilizers so all of the keys with stabs don't make much noise at all. i was not expecting that. I haven't lubed these switches, nor replaced them with my preferred switch, I did order more of them though so I can put them in this keyboard. It will make this cheap little $55 keyboard in line with my $300 custom. TLDR: stabs are lubed, mine unit is nearly perfectly lubed, hotswap lets you try nearly any switch you want, 65% KB's having the dedicated arrows are pretty damn nice, and this this is miles better than anything Ducky, DAS, Logitech, Corsair, Razer, ASUS or other larger companies make. I would recommend this for everyone. if a numberpad is a must. buying a separate numpad would be worth it cause this thing is just great. B08YN8XVMP US

Just needs a way to switch profiles without going into the software. Nic*** I've only had this keyboard for a short time now. I've loved the build and everything else, except the ease of finding the software to program the macros and the inability to switch profiles on the fly. I frequently need to use every key on this keyboard and so i was going to sacrifice the arrow keys to switch profiles to a macro profile except there isnt a way to do that. I'd preferr to be able to set the volume roller to be that but it cant be changed at all. Sad thing is, the roller wont be used ever. Its the first choice to change its settings to me. Past that issue, which is really just my personal feelings. This keyboard has been great. Using it on my pc then with a quick switch on the bottom i can have it bluetooth to my cell and then go right back. I did get a white one and a black one so i could mix the F1-4 and 9-12 to be white on black on one keyboard and black on white on the other so its easier to quick tap those without much attention loss as there isnt the normal spaceing for every 4 keys. I'll be watching for some way in future software updates to let the profile to be switched. When it does, this keyboard will be going into all my office pc's too. B09KNPKS7S US
