Logitech Illuminated Ultrathin Keyboard K740 with Laser-Etched Backlit Keyboard and Soft-Touch Palm Rest - Black 3 Short Life Span Spindl*** I bought the keyboard fourteen months ago. Overall it seemed like a good keyboard with some flaws I was willing to live with until it became unusable. The ctrl key suddenly lost its responsiveness / travel distance / springiness. To explain, under the keys is a plastic nipple that, when a key is pressed, gives positive light tactile feedback. This works well and gives the keyboard a nice feel. I noticed the ctrl key was all of a sudden "flat" and did not have the same amount of travel. Extra pressure was needed to record a press. I yanked off the key to see if I could save the keyboard. I found the nipple was flat. I took off another key to see what it was supposed to look like and could see just how relatively recessed it was. No way to fix. Then I discovered that I could not put the keys back on. In the end, it didn't matter because I can't live without the ctrl key. In terms of amount of use, I am a weekend and evening programmer and use the keyboard daily. But I am not a typist in terms of volume of key presses, but the broken left ctrl key certainly got a high percentage of use (ctrl-c, ctrl-v). Pros: Silent. Good feel. Very low profile. Lighting was acceptable. Liked the audio key placement. Cons: Can't take keys off without breaking. The plastic on the top of each key which has the letter engraved in it began to wear off on 4 keys - a 1/4" diameter circle on the left arrow was the worst and light was pouring through the opening. The insert key is not in the normal place (it has an oversized del key) - I found this very annoying since, as a programmer, I have been using Shift-Ins to Paste for over 20 years - I never got used to this layout. Finally, the durability of the basic key mechanism is poor - I expect more than two years from my keyboard at this price. I've bought a Corsair Gaming K70 LUX RGB Mechanical Keyboard, Backlit RGB LED, Cherry MX RGB Brown as a replacement - which I am typing this review on. Mechanical keyboards are different and this definitely feels like a step up (and at this cost it better be). At least I can pull the keys off without destroying the keyboard. Update: I am 1 month into having the Corsair and still happy with the purchase. B002WJ8VLM US
Alphasmart USB Alpha Smart 3000 Word Processing Computer Mac PC 5 The only customizable Alphasmart Niks*** I love these things, especially because you can mod them to have a mechanical keyboard. I'm a writer and this device makes writing such a joy that I can hardly tell whether I'm contributing anything at all -- the words just keep coming effortlessly. Josaphat *** Marginally less sturdy than advertised (one side of the keyboard sort of clicks when you apply pressure because it's misaligned or too tight or something). This is such a minor issue (if you can call it that) and this is by far the best keyboard I've ever used... Though I have very little experience with mechanical keyboards so take that with a grain of salt. B00CYX54C0 US
Sculpt Ergonomic Wireless Desktop 2 Disappointing Quality Kev*** I expected to really like this keyboard, but the quality is unacceptable, particularly at this price. I've used a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 keyboard for a long time and wanted to switch to a wireless model. At first glance, this one seemed like a great choice. It's attractive, has a nice palm rest, and has a comfortable angle for typing. The magnetic battery covers and stand are a nice touch. Best of all, the keys have a nice feel for a non-mechanical keyboard and require less pressure than my old 4000 ... Well, most of the keys. On my first try, I found that the slash key and the tab key sometimes didn't register unless I pushed all the way down (as if I wanted to repeat the keystroke). I returned this keyboard and exchanged it for another (both purchased at BB, not Amazon). This time, the slash and backspace keys were just fine, but the single quote key had the problem. I'm not trying a third time. Done. Some other issues: 1. Why is the escape key sooooo tiny? I'm a programmer, and I use vi all the time, which means I use the escape key all the time. Not good, but would not have been a dealbreaker. 2. No LED to indicate the caps lock is on. Are you kidding me?! Am I the only one that occasionally hits the caps lock instead of the shift key? Solved with a $.99 app from the Apple store, but annoying nonetheless. 3. The mouse is not very comfortable, despite it's billing as "ergonomic". It's too big, too glossy/slippery, and, despite trying various grips, doesn't seem to have a sweet spot. I would not have continued using it. The design (of the keyboard, not the mouse) is good enough to earn 2 stars, despite the quality issue. If you use the keyboard sporadically, it might be fine for you. I would give it 4 stars when, and, if, MS solves the quality issues. B00HZE2PJS US

SteelSeries Apex M800 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - RGB LED Backlit - Linear & Quiet Switch 1 Good keyboard but software is bad Kla*** I bought this keyboard about 3 months ago. At first it was great, very customizable lighting and macro keys. It did take me a little while to get used to the spacing of they keys because it seemed they were a bit more condensed than my previous keyboard, and the placement of the '0' macro key had me hitting it instead of esc constantly. A month in to owning this the t and 0 keys stopped working, I reinstalled the software and everything was good. Now all of the numbers in the number pad have stopped working and will work for a minute or two if I change the lighting profile then stop again. On a positive note, this is the quietest mechanical keyboard I've ever used. I have been playing black ops 3 on PC recently and my game was crashing sometimes and I wasn't sure what was causing it. I switched to using a controller and it hasn't crashed since. That leads me to believe it was the keyboard software causing the issues. Another thing that bothered me was when caps or num lock are on you can't change the colour of the light, its always white lighting. It started out as a very nice keyboard, but the software is really buggy and I don't want to find a replacement after spending close to $200 on this but I might have to. B00TZ9K3C2 US

SteelSeries Apex 350 Gaming Keyboard, 5 Zone RGB LED Backlit 5 Best non-mechanical Keyboard EVER. Dylan P*** This keyboard is amazing. I'm someone who was looking for a good keyboard in the 100 dollar range, meaning not that many mechanical keyboards to choose from. I led my choices down do the Corsair Black and Red STRAFE with Cherry Brown Keys, a Logitech G700 keyboard, and a ROCCAT Isku Illuminated. The thing is if I had more money I would've gone for a better mechanical one, but I didn't so the only ones I could choose were the 3, and the ROCCAT one wasn't even mechanical. That's when I discovered Steelseries, and the Apex 350 really stood out to me. It has over 20 macro keys, a wrist rest, and you can switch between 4 lighting effects the the top left L keys. So what made this keyboard a bit pricey besides all that? The keys are whisper quite, so quite my mic never picks up the clicking which is really important since I'm streaming and recording gameplay nearly all of the time. I mean sure, the RGB/Illumination was probably more expensive than the keys being whisper quite, but this keyboard still is fantastic. It took awhile to get used to (as in a couple hours only) because I've been using a small, crappy 2005 keyboard for everything so switching to this giant is a big jump. I did need to move thing off of my desk, although it is a small desk in the corner of my room so my fault, but if you don't have a big desk you might need to move stuff around. The lighting effects of the keyboard are very cool to me and in games such as CS:GO, it'll show different effects. When I'm close to death, the main keys will switch from bright to dark, and when dead they go off. It also blinks up really cool and flashes when I get a kill, and of course you can customize what colors you want for these effects and make your own settings for any game you have. They might not be true RGB keys, but this is good enough to please me. The Macros are useful for games such as Guild Wars 2 and other MMO's, and I'm guessing will be good for MOBA's if you like those games (speaking of MOBA's, it has effects already set for Dota 2 if you enjoy that) and they are easy to use if you don't want to spend money on a MMO/MOBA dedicated gaming mouse. The 2 cons about this keyboard is that it needs to be powered by plugging into 2 USB ports, but the good thing about that is it gives you the 2 USB ports back on the side of the keyboard facing away from you, so not really a con actually, meaning the only con is that the driver software doesn't automatically install, you have to go to the website and download it yourself. They did this so people who wanted it to work out of the box would be able to use it immediately, however if it's a keyboard with illuminated effects why wouldn't you want those installed right away? Besides that weird choice, this keyboard is GREAT and I can't wait to use it on even more games as soon as I post this review. B017EVRTM4 US
SteelSeries Apex 300 Gaming Keyboard, White LED Backlit 5 Not Bad at All Ped*** I have always had trouble between choosing membrane or mechanical keyboard, always been my two selections and while this one is a clear choice between the two the thing about the Apex series is that the keys are not that high, in fact compared to most keyboards all of the keys on this one are nice and smooth between one another allowing for much easier typing and in my case gaming, I always go for one of these when I can but I do wish the newer ones were not so expensive. NPET K10 Wired Gaming Keyboard, LED Backlit, Spill-Resistant Design, Multimedia Keys, Quiet Silent USB Membrane Keyboard for 4 Trustworthy Company with decent quality Amazon C*** I've always wanted a keyboard that I could read at night, as I'm a pretty fast home row typist but often need other random keys for games. I wouldn't call this a pro gaming keyboard, but for the price it's very good quality. It's got some heft to it and feels solidly built. I've had this keyboard for about half a year and have had no issues with it. I am starting to see a tiny amount of wear on my D and F keys which makes some light peak through around the edges of the top surface of the keys. I suspect that within a couple years I'll see quite a bit more but honestly it's not enough to bother me yet. When I received the keyboard, one of the rubber pads at the bottom was missing and was nowhere to be found. I communicated with the company through the amazon message system and they promptly sent me a couple replacement pads. I guess quality control left a little something to be desired, but customer service was great. Just be prepared to wait a little while as I'm pretty sure it came from China. (Probably took a week or so, so not too bad). Concerning the feel of the keyboard, I personally think it's great. It's sort of an in between a mechanical keyboard and a membrane keyboard. Hard core gamers might just snub their noses at this keyboard but honestly it's been my favorite feeling keyboard (compared to the keyboards that usually come included with a mass produced computer). I remember reading some reviews that complained about the comfort of the keyboard but it's been great for my average sized man hands. The keys do tend to feel taller than an average keyboard so if they feel too tall, I would recommend one of those gel keyboard pad dealies to raise your hands up a bit. Anywho, overall I'm very satisfied with the product and customer service over at NPET. It's always a little nerve racking picking a product out of the usual 4-5 copycat products out there, but this one was good. B01BBKYM3I US

Jonath*** Bought this as a gift for a family member, and overall I'm more than pleased with what we received for $40. The 7 color setup also makes me wonder why more ppl don't settle for these over true rgb LED's, they're usually cheaper and honestly it's still pleasing to the eye. Pro's Simple design done right. No dings and dents, good on granvela and good on the delivery company. Blue outemu switches, pretty consistent feel across all keys, nice and clicky. LED's are bright, and include a good number of lighting modes. Con's I can only list one real con for my particular board, and it's purely cosmetic... the up arrow key cap seems to be a misprinted/mismolded key cap. The arrow literally points down, instead of up? So quality control may not be perfect Overall, 8 or 9/10. The one flaw I found bothers me enough visually whenever I actually look down at the arrow cluster that I have to dock a star. B01L8EKTHK US

MG Chemicals 842AR-P Silver Conductive Pen, 8.6g 5 Works great for repairing keyboard membranes Luna*** I've been using these to repair the plastic membrane sheets of my IBM and Unicomp Model M mechanical keyboards for several years and have gone through at least three so far. The silver pens are expensive, but I read somewhere that it's best to keep using the same metals throughout, so I buy those. They're not the most intuitive to use, so you should make sure to try it out on a piece of scrap paper or something you're not afraid to ruin to get the hang of it. Always make sure to give it a good shake first (like a paint marker) and squeeze the body while laying the ink down. And if you mess up, even after it dries, it's easy to scrape away with something like a screwdriver or an exacto knife, at least on smooth plastic. My picture is of some traces I repaired on a Model M membrane. I accidentally scraped them off while cleaning away a nasty stain and fixed it using this pen. B01M0QEYR4 US

Microsoft 3RA-00022 Surface Ergonomic Wireless Keyboard,Gray 2 Superb Keyboard (When It Works) - Mac Users Beware Sterling *** EDIT (AGAIN): After doing some additional research and speaking with a few other owners of this keyboard, it appears bluetooth connectivity issues I describe below disproportionally affect Apple computers. In fact, I suspect the issues affect only Apple products, which should come as little surprise given this is a Microsoft product. EDIT: My original, glowing review below was based on my first week of use - before the keyboard decided to stop waking up from sleep and reconnecting. Everything I said in the original review is still true; when the keyboard works, it's superb, one of the best keyboards I've ever used. However, I've now gone through two of these units and they both suffer from the same bug of inconsistently waking up and the inability to consistently reconnect to your computer. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to waste 5 minutes removing and re-pairing the keyboard every time my computer goes to sleep so I'm sending this keyboard back. Hopefully Microsoft will release an updated version that fixes these issues. After a weeks of use I had to revise my initial glowing review down to one star, unfortunately. As it turns out, this keyboard is extremely inconsistent when it comes to waking up from sleep. Occasionally it works flawlessly but frequently it refuses to wake up at all. Removing and replacing the batteries doesn't solve the issue, though sometimes waiting 20 or 30 minutes and trying to wake it up again does work. But the only real solution I've found is to remove the keyboard from my bluetooth devices and re-pair it, which is highly frustrating. I'm hoping this is just a glitch with an early production run of the device because I really want to love this this. For what it's worth, the laptop with which I pair this keyboard is a 2016 model and is equipped with the latest Bluetooth 4.0 I evaluated the new Surface Ergonomic keyboard through the lens of the previous iteration of the product, theMicrosoft L5V-00001 Sculpt Ergonomic Wireless Desktop Keyboard and Mouse and I've found it to be an improvement in nearly every way. Pros: + FINALLY A BUILT IN NUMBER PAD! My single biggest gripe with the Sculpt ergonomic keyboard was the fact that the number pad was a separate detached unit. There were so many problems with this: it was easy to lose, it didn't stay put when you were using it and the crappy little watch battery died months before the AAA batteries in the main keyboard expired. + Build Quality. From the moment you take this keyboard out of the box, you can feel that it's a much more substantial product than the old Sculpt Keyboard, which was light and entirely plastic. This Surface ergonomic keyboard may not have a metal case but it's thicker, heaver and less flexible. This bodes well because I went through 4 of the old Sculpt keyboards over two years. + Tactile feel of the keys. This isn't a mechanical keyboard, so don't expect that super satisfying click. But the switches used in the Surface ergonomic keyboard offer substantially better feedback than the previous version, which was slightly mushy when new and very mushy after a few months of extended use. The keys are still light and easy to press, but the level of travel and resistance is pleasing enough to create a really nice tactile feel. + Neutral color will hide wear and tear better. My old black Sculpt Ergonomic keyboard looks positively disgusting after a few months of use. The palm rest was stained a lighter color in places and the most frequently used keys became greasy and gross looking. The lighter colors of the Surface ergonomic keyboard should hide those things much better. Mixed: +/- Bluetooth connection instead of wireless dongle connection. For me this is a pro because I lost one of the little USB wireless receivers required with the Sculpt Ergonomic keyboard and Microsoft simply didn't make replacements. So if you lost the USB receiver, you had to buy a whole new keyboard. But I understand there are use cases where bluetooth could be a con. Cons: - Price (kind of). Yes this keyboard is more expensive than the previous version. However, I think this will be a better investment in the long run. As I stated earlier in this review, I had to buy four Sculpt Keyboards over two years whereas I could realistically see this keyboard lasting a full two years, though I could be completely wrong on that. - Color (possibly). The keyboard I received doesn't match the color scheme of the product photos - the keys and wrist rest are a light grey rather than dark grey or black. I'm not sure if I inadvertently ordered the wrong version or if the product photo isn't accurate, but it is definitely different. It's still pretty good looking and I don't really care. But the white letters on the grey background don't provide excellent contrast, which could be a problem for some people. Overall I'm extremely pleased with this keyboard and plan to order a second one for my home office soon. B01MXXQKGM US

RedThunder K900 Gaming Keyboard, RGB Backlit Semi-Mechanical with Wrist Rest, Water-Resistant USB Wired Hybrid Ergonomic, Teclado Gamer for Desktop Computer PC Mac PS4 3 Takes some adjusting for regular, non-gaming usage chas*** Good, plug and play semi-mechanical keyboard. The board feels more mechanical than membrane, which is a plus if you ask me. The wrist rest does not come attached to the board so you have to install that yourself. All of the tools are provided so it’s not a big deal and only takes a few minutes to complete. The board itself is a little difficult to type on if you’re using it for any sort of regular desk/school work. The left side Shift key is only half the size I’m used to (other boards). So if you’re used to having the shift be at least two buttons wide this takes some adjustment. The Enter (return) button is also an odd shape, which too, takes some adjusting. Be prepared for a lot of typos. The phone holder is a great addition and provides ample space for the phone and any charging cables. There is some sort of timer or inactive sensor that automatically turns off all lights/animation if the board isn’t used for a while. If the board is still plugged-in, you can keep typing as usual as one quick touch of any button will reactivate the lights. Be forewarned, if you extend the legs the function row and top row of keys can be difficult to see during the day. If you know your keys and use the board with backlight at night there is no problem. I decided to go with this since it’s really quiet but still has a great feel and slight feedback on the key stroke. I will update again once I can use it for gaming but as far as being on the computer all day typing I love this keyboard. Good flare with the rgb and the audio controls were a must fir me and work very well. Only reason I did 4 stars was because I haven’t been able to game on it yet and will update when I do. Great value for the price though. Definitely recommend. B07QS6MG8B US
havit Mechanical Keyboard and Mouse Combo RGB Gaming 104 Keys Blue Switches Wired USB Keyboards with Detachable Wrist Rest, Programmable Gaming Mouse for PC Gamer Computer Desktop (Black) 5 Great keyboard and mouse combo Hoan*** I recently just built my first computer and it was suggested that I look into a mechanical keyboard and mouse combo. After looking at a bunch of reviews, I settled on this Havit. It's a great price considering the lighting and feel of the keys. It has quite a bit of lighting settings that you customize from the keyboard. The mouse also feels pretty good and they went the extra mile by sleeving the cables for the both the mouse and keyboard. RK ROYAL KLUDGE RK71 Wireless/Wired Mechanical Keyboard and 7200 DPI Gaming Mouse, 71 Keys RGB Brown Switch Hot Swappable Compact Gaming Keyboard for Win/Mac 5 I love this board!!! Amazon C*** Went to a store with some key samplers, I personally like brown switches so thats what I chose. I love how minimalist this is! For Bluetooth and key mapping I had some minor issues. Like for Bluetooth I had to reset the keyboard to factory default and for mapping, the rk software is ok, but I had to use Sharp Keys to get it right. But other than those two things I love my keyboard :) B07SW1S3YZ US
Cherry MX Brown 5 It works great Solomon *** My previous keyboard was a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard. I wanted a mechanical keyboard for a while. I cannot use the regular keyboards as it hurts my wrists. Since I work from home I use this keyboard about eight hours per day. I also bought the lift kit to help angle the keyboard. I only use the white light on the keyboard, so I can see it in low light at night. You can turn off all the lights with the press of one button, and the lights turn on with a one button press. You can use the keyboard with the lights off. The only issue I do not like is it does not have an integrated keypad. I wish Kinesis would come out with a matching keypad. I see a lot of keypads on Amazon, but the keys just do not look like it matches this unit. It did take a little getting used to for the placement of the special keys (arrows, home, end, etc.) but I got used to it after a while. B07TC8J6HK US
Jeecoo V20U USB Pro Gaming Headset for PC - 7.1 Surround Sound Headphones with Noise Cancelling M... 2 The sound sounds tinny. Jonathan *** The sound inside of the headphones sounds tinny, like you're hearing a video or video-game through a tin can. The noise cancellation is pretty good. I have a mechanical keyboard and while watching a video or playing a video-game i can barely hear my keyboard click-clack in the background. The microphone is decent, better than most, but not the best. Overall, build for the headphone is plastic. the RGB LED on the ear-cups look cheap and look similar to a glow stick. The top of the headset is comfortable and so far the comfort of the ear-cups are also comfortable. I am a glasses wear-er and the ear cups do press my glasses firmly against my face enough to notice I'm wearing glasses but not enough that it's a nuisance. For the price i got them for ($40) I would definitely say I got what I paid for. If this headset is your only choice for a budget headset I would go for it, but if you can afford a more expensive headset (~$100) I'd much recommend spending the extra money for a quality headset instead of this one. TL;DR Headset feels and hears cheaply made, but an affordable option if left no choice. B07V6QBRY4 US
FPS & MOBA Gaming Keycaps, Stainless Steel Metal Mechanical Keycap with Key Puller Compatible with Cherry Mx Switch Mechanical Keyboard (Silver) (Rose Gold, Directions) 5 Beautiful! (No Reviewer*** Feel nice, like the look. Fast delivery. The arrows are cut outs, but I don’t mind. B07W6ZTMWP US
Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo, K1 RGB LED Backlit Keyboard with 104 Key for PC/Laptop(White) 3 Don't buy for work purposes Ard*** I know this is a "gaming" keyboard but I bought this because I love mechanical keyboards and I wanted something nice for work because I use a computer all day. The backspace key SUCKS. I use my pinky for the backspace button and it seems like you have to press it right in the middle for the key to actually go down. If you press the key slightly towards the left, there is some resistance. Kinda sucks but oh well. B07WKBMG9Z US
MSI Vigor GK30 Combo, 6-Zone RGB GK30 Gaming Keyboard & GM11 Gaming Mouse, Water Repellent & Splash-Proof, 5000 DPI 4 Great bundle, incredibly loud keys Jian *** Update October 2nd, 2022: The mouse stopped working today because of a "USB malfunction." I'm disappointed at how fast the mouse broke; a little over two months after getting it. The keyboard still works fine though. This is an excellent combo for gaming, and I love how you can customize the RGB on both the keyboard and mouse. Both items work flawlessly. However, the keyboard is much louder than I thought it would be. They aren't lying about the mechanical in mechanical keyboard. B07WNHWDXB US
Basaltech Mechanical Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo, Retro Steampunk Vintage Typewriter-Style Keyboard with LED Backlit, 104 5 The feel of a typewriter, but a keyboard. Jo*** Great if you love mechanical keyboards or have ever loved typing on a typewriter. Easy to clean. Very bright with a large variety of pulsating light patterns available. As well as fun light coordinations with your typing. I love this keyboard! The matching mouse is also very comfortable & easy to clean as well! B07X3M1P5X US
Neoprene Foam Strip Roll by Dualplex, 3" Wide x 10' Long x 1/8" Thick, Weather Seal High Density Stripping – Weather Strip Roll Insulation Foam Strips - 10 Feet Long 5 Good for keyboard modification Jon*** I used the foam as a dampener for some mechanical keyboards as I've recently gotten into the hobby. The foam fits perfectly as rows in the cases and give good ping and hollowness dampening. The foam roll lives up to it's name. B07X3SYQMV US
Gateron KS-9 RGB Mechanical MX Type Key Switch - Clear top (65 Pcs, Red) 2 You get what you pay for Kev*** The pins are slightly too wide for a hot swap mechanical keyboard so they all. I need to decide if I want to sit and file each one slightly or return them. B07YDMCC48 US
RK ROYAL KLUDGE RK71 Wireless/Wired Mechanical Keyboard and 7200 DPI Gaming Mouse, 71 Keys RGB Red Switch Hot Swappable Compact Gaming Keyboard for Win/Mac 5 White - Red Switches Ty *** 2nd time I've purchased the RK71. 1st time w/ Brown switches, this time w/ red ones. Let's quickly go through what my experience w/ this in the 4 hours of usage. PROS -Quieter than the brown switches. -Great RGB presets -Easy to use functions -Looks stunning -Came cleaner than previous purchase (no scuffs from key cap removal) CONS -Typing feedback; feels like i need to push further than the brown switches -Bluetooth function; version 3.0 on this keyboard I believe. Wouldn't connect to STRIX B450i motherboard w/ Bluetooth v4.2. Had to add Bluetooth dongle. It's a fickle thing though as it connected to a TUF X570 motherboard and 4 different cell phones. For now, satisfied w/ the product.
