24V Dual-Sensor Motion Activated COB LED Strip Lights 5 excellent stair lighting with sensors for top and bottom of stairs Jim and*** I am pleasantly surprised by the quality and functionality of these COB strip lights with motion sensors. The COB is very bright with a nice warm glow. The motion sensors are rechargeable and last a long time. The motion sensors slide in and out of the wall holder easily to take them out to charge. The lighting strip plugs into the receiver and the included power supply. Pairing the sensors to receiver was quick and easy. The included instructions are very good. The power supply has a blue light to indicate power. The range for the receiver seems to be pretty good but I did have issues with the bottom stair motion sensor until I moved the receiver up the wall where it was not blocked by stairs or the railing. The sensors are great and pickup motion quickly. I love how the lights ramp up and down as the come on and go off. Very nice effect. I also like that the motion sensor does not pickup motion until you are very close to the stairs. I have these installed on basement stairs to a home theater and I did not want them coming on with any movement in the room when watching a movie in the dark. They come on quickly when you approach the stairs which is what I wanted. The COB strip was very easy to install on the underside of my railing with the self stick backing. The backing is super sticky and I have had no issues with it coming loose. I had to cut and split the run into two segments due to the stair landing and second railing. I ran a wire between the two strips with some connectors I purchased separately. I included a picture with the "test install" with the wire still showing and the motion sensors taped to the wall. I would recommend taping the sensors to the wall until you figure out what location works best to trigger the lights and maintain a good connection to the receiver. Overall, I think this set is excellent in function and price. I love entering the stairs and having them light up for me and then turn off after 30 seconds. The 3000K warm white gives off a soft, comfortable glow that provides enough light to see without feeling harsh. The motion activation is probably my favorite feature. Having sensors at both ends makes them especially useful for a staircase or hallway because the lights can come on as you approach from either direction. They turn on when they detect movement and then shut back off, so there’s no need to remember to turn them off. The COB strip also gives the lighting a nice, continuous appearance rather than looking like a row of individual dots. The 16.4-foot length provides plenty of material for a staircase, along a hallway, under cabinets, or even around a bed or other furniture. The strip is flexible enough to work around corners and different layouts. The warm light and motion activation make these particularly nice for nighttime use. I can see these being really helpful on stairs when you don't want to turn on all the lights in the house.
