Dyson DC65 Animal Upright Vacuum Cleaner 1 Bad News craig *** NOT AS GOOD as the old dyson. On thick low nap area rugs its brush routinely stalls out and this vacuum is worthless for that application. I mean worthless! It doesn't work! The ball swivel does not work well and my 220lb 6' frame has trouble negotiating any curve. It has trouble picking up any object greater than 5mm on a smooth hard floor. The old animal, not a ball, was effortless, picked up all the dirt, never broke and was easier to maneuver. Bad design by dyson on this one. Changing a previously successful and dependable design was a mistake. Wonder what problems exist with the new cinetic ball. I own 5 dysons and will not buy another. Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Upright Vacuum Cleaner, Purple/Iron 2 A Lemon? and*** First, I did not buy mine from Amazon but I am on here to read reviews to see if others had my problem, the power stopped working when the vacuum is upright. This happened after only three months and it worked fine the previous time I used it. It will still work in the reclined position but I have to press the roller button on and off the make it work. I tried cleaning everything and it still doesn’t work I impulsively bought this from a store because I was frustrated with the slim ball I accidentally bought from Amazon when I thought I ordered the regular animal ball. I was frustrated with the slim ball because the diameter of the hose/wand was much smaller than my old Dyson pet hair, which worked great for 15 years! This meant water bottle caps stuck perfectly in the tube to clog it and were very difficult to dislodge. When you have three boys who drop bottle tops or leave them on counters, and several cats who think these caps make great toys, it is hard not to accidentally suck them up (especially when the one great thing is the good suction). I assumed the “Big” ball would have a bigger tube like the old Dyson. NOPE! I stuck the tube under the couch to vacuum and something lodged in it and wouldn’t come out. I finally had to use Draino in the tube overnight. It was a sock. My old Dyson would suck socks right up through to the canister and then I could remove them. It also sucks up area rugs like people stated. I try standing on the corners, but….. Dyson is sending me a replacement after arguing with them. They didn’t have Cinetic balls in stock so I’m getting the Animal 3 which I hope is better, but it costs less so I feel like I lost money in the deal. It also sounds like the hose on that is narrow too. Hopefully the power doesn’t go out…. B00TFBQBTO US
