I got the 96 count and I must say about 90% of these pastels are consistently creamy and smooth but some of the reds apply very rough and are quite hard to blend. Although this may be an anomaly and just an error pertaining to my batch specifically. Also one of the green colors is missing, but this is not a huge issue considering how many colors i got. Maybe I didn't have the technique, but I was unable to blend the Tombow markers with a nice transition unless I used a water brush (which wasn't the look I was going for; I have watercolor pencils for that). Now these markers are a different story and I was pleasantly surprised. These are juicy markers, they blend very nicely, with a smooth transition; admittedly, some colors blend better than others. There's a good color selection and I've already had a lot of fun with these markers. I use these with my Staedtler triplus fine liners and colored pencils in a variety of coloring books including secret garden. Caran D'ache Fibralo Fibre Tipped Pens, Set/30 1 Really horrible markers Kristen*** I use a lot of different Caran d'Ache products, and this is the first one I don't like. In fact, I hate these markers. They can't act be used as markers. I'm guessing I can use them in conjunction with a water brush to get a watercolor look, as they are water soluble. But I wanted markers, and what I got was the worst set I have ever had the misfortune of using. They tear up the paper, no matter how good the quality. On some papers, they act like they're dried out. And the coloring lines/streaks are terrible. I really regret this purchase, but by the time I'd done enough small tests to confirm the awfulness, the seller only gave me one day to ship them back. If someone wants to comment and tell me where I'm wrong, please feel free. Even a YouTube link would be appreciated. For now, these win the award for Worst Product Ever Bought on Amazon.com. I teach K-12, and though I think it would still be easy for younger students to accidentally 'feed' an entire pencil to the sharpener, my older students will be thrilled to say goodbye to the hand held ones we've been using. So far, I've used it with my Prismacolor pencils, and it's been excellent. It gives a really sharp point without grinding down the expensive pencil too much. It is easy to hear and feel when the point has become sharp enough, which cuts down on waste. I have also been using regular graphite drawing pencils occasionally to keep the blade clean. It can be a little messy to empty, but as long as you use your head and don't let the canister get to the point of overflowing, it really isn't a big deal. I have not purchased these from Amazon, but from the office supply section at my local "has-it-all" grocery/apparel/etc store. (Like that description?) I must like these boxes (4X6 size) better than I even realized because I became defensive when I saw several negative comments from other reviewers. So, I felt compelled to write a review. When I first found them I had no inkling they would be described as index card keepers. I was looking for something to get a handle on all and sundry small items in my home - from craft supplies to dry goods in the kitchen. To address some of the negative points made: No lids. Each and every box is supposed to have a lid that is held in place by hinged clips on the shorter ends. If yours did or do not arrive that way, contact the seller for amends. A non-attached lid. One reviewer stated that it's basically useless to have a lid that just sits on top of the box. Again, the lids are to be held in place by hinged clips on either end - contact the seller if they're not present. Cheap plastic will scratch, etc. I have had mine for about two years now and they look great. Not brand new, of course, but I actually feel that the raised, hatched feature on the corners provides a lot of protection for the smooth surfaces. While they are listed as storage for index cards, they can be used for so many different purposes. In my kitchen they contain baking soda, brown sugar, various flours or meals for baking and cooking, popcorn and some specialty items. It's great that I can see what's inside when I'm looking for something in the cupboard and my shelves stay cleaner. CDs in their plastic cases fit beautifully in them. My kids each have their own boxes for crayons, colored pencils and markers - two different colors so no one accuses the other of using "their" coloring supplies. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, one box is perfect for all our Skipbo, Old Maid, Go Fish and other card sets. I even have all my shoe-shining supplies in one. I would like it if the hinged clips were a tad more secure, but I've never had one fall over and lose its lid, so I can't complain. A fairly large drawback to ordering from Amazon is that one can't select the specific color. I have all blue in my kitchen, for example. I actually was hoping to order some from Amazon because the store I mentioned doesn't keep them in stock reliably. So much for that. If Amazon customers could select the color they wanted, I would make this a 5-star review, so that is why I only give 4 stars here. Staedtler 334C36JBLU Johanna Basford Triplus Fineliner Pens for Adult Coloring Books (Set of 36) 5 Takes the frustration out of adult coloring books Eri*** I recently got my first adult coloring book and had been using colored pencils, but was frustrated by constantly needing to sharpen them to get into all the tiny details. Enter these marker pens. I knew of Staedtler brand and knew it was a high quality brand favored and used by many professional engineers, architects etc. for drafting. Even though there were cheaper options from brands I'd never heard of, I decided to go with a brand I knew. The tips are fine enough to get into all the nooks and crannies of my coloring book and they don't bleed outside the lines or through the back of the paper either. I wanted something that was felt tip and not simply a ball point pen with colored ink. The only downside is this particular set of colors does not have as many pastel shades that I would prefer to have a full spectrum coloring options. However, I knew I was not going to get every color and shade under the sun because there are only 36 pens. Also, some ink colors do not look exactly like their pen cap color (Ex. the light purple pen cap as actually a darker grayish-purple and not the pastel lavender youd think). To help with this I took some plain white label stickers and colored each one with a marker and then taped it around the top of the pen. This has helped me tremendously in picking out the right color I want and being able to compare different options before committing to a color. B017SF5086 US
