If there’s room to write and journal, then I consider it a bonus. So, I was excited to get the opportunity to review the NIV Journal Bible for Girls from Zondervan. This Bible is a no-frills Bible. There are no study notes. There is no concordance. However, there are wide two inch margins that are perfect for journaling. The pages are thick enough to not have to worry about bleed through with colored pencils and pens. Best of all, the cover is a beautiful pink and orange floral. The marketing materials on this Bible say that it is for girls, implying it is for children and teens to journal with, but there is nothing girlish about the Bible. This would be an excellent Bible for a young lady or teenager, but it would also make an excellent Bible for an adult to use for Bible journaling. Some small details are tucked away at the binding of the book, which makes me really dig or bend my book to get it to lay flat so I can color those areas. Forest Girl's Diary (Chinese Edition) Paperback – September 1, 2019 5 super cute! fol*** i got the forest girl coloring book and liked the art so much i bought this thinking it might be a compilation of the artist's work. i was half right, to my surprise, i found there were two books (not only were they shrink wrapped together, they were individually shrink wrapped as well; definitely protected) one is the art book and the other is a journal to write or draw in. they both have the same kind of binding that makes it easier to keep the books open (the art book has a dust jacket). they both measure about eight by six inches, give or take. i do prefer my art books to be bigger with thicker, glossier pages but this one is good for what it is. also, i didnt think the english translations would be in here since it said it was the chinese edition, but theyre there; little poems and such for each artwork. although... there is a little interview with the artist at the end which doesnt offer a translation, but thats okay. as for the journal, there are twelve full color pages of artwork within; four have a color-in copy on their opposite pages and the other eight are behind such pages. so if youre going to be coloring these pages, i would use colored pencils.... VERY lightly. theres also quite a few of the art pieces that are all in a single color (green, pink, blue, etc) scattered about. also, the blank pages switch from looking like graph paper to just having dots. i think i'll mainly use it to sketch in. anyway, wasnt sure what i was getting when i bought this but im sure glad i did. if you like the forest girl artwork and are looking for a cute journal as well, then this right here is it. im sure it would make a nice gift as well. also! it came with a little bookmark.. i think? even if its not, thats what im going to use it for. all in all, very happy with purchase B00004UBH0 US
