There is no indicator but if you hold function and b the numbers will light up letting you know how much battery life you have left. There is software you can download if you want to dive deeper in to your custom settings but it really isn't necessary. You can change your rgb by holding function and pressing backslash. Every day, I spend most of my time at the keyboard as a software developer and was looking forward to using the macro capacity of this keyboard. Unfortunately, this functionality is very limited unless you use iCue software. This wouldn't be so bad, if that software wasn't so horrible. Here is but a sample of what I experienced trying to use it: complicated and illogical user interface, improperly stored the names of my actions, lost key mappings, crashes (especially when I try to reorder my actions), macros that work one day but not the next, doesn't properly download profiles to hardware, etc. If I delivered that kind of software to my customers I would get fired. To top it all, this supposed flagship product has a cheap feel all around, compared to my trusty 'old' K75 model that I'm using to write this review. The space bar would even get stuck and I had to remove it and reposition it for it to work properly. And BTW, if you add macro keys to the keyboard, why can't you combine them with a modifier key (Alt, Ctrl, etc.) to get more macro recording capacity? I used to be real interested in Corsair line of products. I won't take a chance on them anymore. Bottom line: if you're interested in this keyboard for its macro recording capacities, you better save your dollars for something else. B09DK9CSTQ US

The touch pad isn't nearly as fluid/responsive as the one on it's big brother, the K830. I've used the Logitech K830 extensively for almost two years now. It has the back-lit keyboard and a USB rechargeable battery inside. It costs about double, but if you can afford it (and if it's back in stock), I'd recommend that one.
