The best and worst feature has to be the extra length. If she's just wearing the harness around the house it allows us to quickly grab her if needed without hurting her. During walks/runs though this extra length will sometimes get wrapped around her neck. We just have to work hard to keep it behind her. Since she is an aussidoodle she tends to cross from left to right instead of staying on one side. The herding instinct keeps her all over the place. We just end up getting a better workout! The first one lasted about a year, then the seam holding the back clasp broke and our dog got a solo tour of the neighborhood. Fortunately, we found him unharmed. The harness had held up well otherwise, great visibility, it seemed comfortable, and we thought (hoped?) that maybe this was a random issue and ordered another. The second harness lasted a few months before the metal hook on the back busted. Miraculously, we found him in one piece, pretty pleased with himself, on the other side of a highway.. For reference, we have a mild mannered 60 lb lab mix who only pulls if he happens upon a cat. Like, we usually have to encourage him to keep up the pace during our walks. Curiosi*** I have a dog (rescue / abandoned stray) that hated wearing a collar, hated the idea of a leash, hated all harnesses I've ever tried. Any time we attached a leash to his collar, he'd go into what I call the "gator roll" - spinning, thrashing, trying to bite the leash, etc. Slip lead? Same thing. Harnesses that go under the armpits? Same thing. Going to a trainer? Same thing. I have tried pretty much everything under the sun - he's not a puller, that's never been the issue - he just does not want to be attached to a leash - at all. He would literally go into panic mode, freak out and shut down. He's such a great dog, he is so loving and wonderful in the house that all I really want for him is to take him with me when I go places, but that's not easy to do if the dog flips out every time you attach a leash - if I lived on a farm that would be one thing, but I live where there are leash laws. so I'd basically given up. I came across this harness and decided to give it a shot. When I first put it on him, he went into his typical "I hate this, I can't move, why did you do this to me?" attitude. I had him wear it for a couple hours, gave him a lot of treats, and he figured out he could actually walk with it on. Finally I felt brave enough to take him outside while wearing it - I took along our other dog who walks well on a leash, and for the first time since we've had him, he actually went for a walk where it wasn't a struggle! No spinning, no grabbing the leash, no freaking out. The harness itself seems very well made, it's easy to adjust. I like that the padding across the front is held on with Velcro, so it's easy to take that off and adjust, then re-position it where needed. The strap that goes under the dog is also easy to adjust and can easily be fit to go either around the rib cage or just behind. It doesn't dig into my dogs armpits like other harnesses. It's easy to put on once it's adjusted, it's not a struggle to get it over his head, and then i only have to clip one buckle. If I had one gripe, it would be that the side D ring is on the left side of the harness - it's normal to teach a dog to heel on the person's left, so it would have made more sense if the D ring was on the right so a leash could be attached at that point to make it easier to keep tension on it properly instead of suggesting the D ring be a point for attaching accessories. The leash also seems nice, although not as nice as the harness. It's a thick paracord, but where the ends meet, it's secured by plastic pieces that I don't think I would trust with a dog who pulls. I will probably remove the plastic and replace it with a better paracord wrap. (550) B0FWJRDJYK US

Last night, I finally discovered that the no pull hook was in the front. As a newer dog owner, I would have appreciated a heads up on that. I spent 3 weeks thinking to myself, "Dude, I think my pup has leash reactivity or something because she's pulling so hard on a no pull harness." I would have liked to not stress about that for 3 weeks. It turns out she just likes to sniff and explore, and the no pull harness helps her focus more on walks. We all start somewhere I guess, but I still feel dumb. A simple, "Hey, use this hook for teaching leash skills!" shouldn't be too much to ask. As for the no pull aspect, in the last 24 hours since I discovered the hook on the front, my dog has so much less pulling! It seemed to be an almost instant improvement. We can walk longer and faster than the 24 hours previous. The harness appears to be well made, and I like that the hooks are metal, and thick. I feel like it also runs big, because I had to spend some time fitting it to her, and I have to tighten it back every 10 days or so. It doesn't chafe, also if she's not right next to me, the leash rubs a bit on her leg. It doesn't seem to bother her, and I haven't noticed any irritation. I think that once she's got the hang of heel, that will diminish. For performance, 5 stars. But the lack of paperwork is why I'm giving it 4 stars.
