I wanted the same thing since it worked so well but they changed the design and made it worse. Some changes are good, the washable filter in front of the pump intake is great for example. The problem is the pump itself, or more specifically the water sensor. The first unit we got wouldn't start at first, said it had low water level, so I ordered a replacement, it didn't work either until I touched the back of the pump where the sensor is then it would start and run until I took my finger away. Couldn't figure out what was happening, I then tried the original pump and it started working but soon kept failing in the same way, saying there was no water. I don't trust this fountain anymore and with this design, there is very little if any water available to the cats that if it did fail they would have no water. B08D8JKPLL US

The middle part is cumbersome to get back into place, I often wonder how I did it in the first place. I consider myself an educated professional, and this water fountain frustrates me to no end at times. 2. The pump gave out not even a year into use. If I have to replace a pump every ~10 months, I'm going to need to rethink my use of this product. 3. It fluctuates in noise. Sometimes, it's super quiet and I can only hear the water trickling. Other times (even when full), it sounds like it's a water pump for the Hoover Dam. All in all, I thought it would make it so I wouldn't need to clean my dog's water bowl as often, but I feel like I have to do it almost as much as a stationary bowl. At first the dogs were hesitant to drink out of it, especially the small ones, but once they did they were hooked. I only give my dogs filtered or bottled water so I don't know if it's the fountain effect that attracts them or that now the water is being filtered a second time but they absolutely do drink more water than they did out of a regular dog dish. The unit is very quiet, no splashing from the spout and it is easy to maintain. My only suggestions are that you wash it thoroughly before using (there were small plastic bits stuck to the basin and surrounding areas) and that you take extra care in rinsing the filter (I had to dump the first batch because of little black flecks).
