HOWEVER, the board comes folded in half and is very, very creased out of the box. I left it out overnight, I left it out with heavy hardcover books on the crease, I left it out in the sun for a full summer day, I've tried nearly everything except for ironing it to eliminate the crease (the photos are after all of those steps were taken). That's what I'm going to do next. As it is, it's bumpy enough that I'd rather play without it than with the crease. If the ironing works to smooth out the board, I'll update this review. The sushi pieces are rubbery (like erasers) and the wooden chopsticks add a fun component to the game (neither of us were good at using them, so it added a comic element to the game). There are a couple of ways the creators suggest to play this game (and you can modify or make up your own!) Both games start out by putting the chopsticks on the game board where indicated and randomly putting sushi pieces on all the other game squares. 1) Sushi Bingo - one side of the plate boards has 6 pictures of sushi and you need to roll the dice and come up with an equation that will allow you to take a piece from the game board that matches your plate. The first one to fill up their plate wins 2) Sushi Race - we played the points version of this game where different sushi items have different values. On your turn, you roll the 3 dice and make equations using +, -, x, / to match numbers on the board (1-30). It was fun trying different equations to see if we could get a piece of sushi that was worth more points. There are a couple of numbers that we found were more difficult to make equations for and after we both rolled several times and no one could get them, we decided to do "rock paper scissors" to determine who got to put it on their plate. The only negatives - and not worth taking a star off - is that some of the sushi pieces are held together with black electrical tape. I get that they are suggesting that it represents seaweed, but both of us thought it looked weird when we opened the box. It didn't affect game play at all. I suspect that playing with 4 people would give an unfair disadvantage to whoever goes last. You need a set of chopsticks before your can start putting food on your plate. Whoever goes first has 4 numbers they can try to create to get chopsticks - whoever goes last only has one number and it may be several turns before they can get them. If we were playing with 4 people, I would suggest that equating any of the 4 numbers that have chopstick symbols on the gameboard would allow you to take chopsticks. So I started putting mimics in, and any dungeons & dragons player that's a dungeon master would appreciate the humor and any player would appreciate how paranoid they all became, and they would get to the point where they would throw things at the treasure chest, poke it with long pole arms, even throw fireballs at the chest possibly destroying it, just to verify it wasn't a mimic. Story time is over and I wanted to tell you that this thing is absolutely awesome and it's a mimic and I love it and it holds my dice perfectly my new set of purple dice for my new generation of players as I picked up the mantle of being a dungeon master once again. It's extremely well made not entirely sure if it's a CNC wood design but I'm very very pleased with it, it's really cool got to hurry I'm settling picture of the mimic with its tongue out, but hey it is a monster that looks like a treasure chest. The absolute only con I would have with this is that the whole thing is wood 100%, there could have been felts or foam or something in the dice tray area to settle them in but that's something that you can add after which is what I'm going to do. It's roughly half to three quarters of an inch thick, and even though it's lightweight wood it's quite durable.
