The good news is Delta will send me a replacement. While waiting for a new pump, I replaced the O-ring in the pump assembly. Although it looks like one piece, it does come apart. Just use channelock pliers to twist and pull out the cap that holds the plunger in and then pull the stuck plunger out. Take the old rubber ring to a local hardware store and get one that fits tight and seals well. Reassemble and it will good as new. B002FJ9LBS US

This one however should have no such problems. This faucet design provides lots of room and movement for washing and rinsing almost anything, including our dog.
