Moleskine Limited Edition Wicked Notebook, Large, Ruled, Black, Hard Cover (5 x 8.25) 5 The listing photo shows a paper wrapper Vampal*** I love moleskine notebooks and I am a writer and an artist and there truly isn’t another brand like it. I think the one thing that surprised me here is that moleskine’s are typically quite plain and understated. It’s the quality that you can’t get past. I saw this for a great price and with what I thought was a very unusual cover for moleskine, so I jumped on it. Admittedly, because I already know that I love their products, I didn’t read very carefully. So the one think everyone should know is that the image pictured of good witch and the bad witch is just a paper wrap. It’s not the actual cover. However, it is still well worth getting, especially at the sale price. It’s a great deal and part of the proceeds go to a good cause for arts. Additionally, this truly isn’t the typically plain moleskine cover. On the front, the word Wicked is imprinted in bright green. On the back the words: Brains., Heart., Courage. are all imprinted in the same green, as shown in the photos. So it really is very different and will standout. Also, that paper wrapper is quite thick and on the inside is a map of the land of Oz. I only just received mine, so I tucked into the pocket in the back (characteristic of moleskine journals and sketchbooks) for now. I am contemplating using it, gluing it to open pages, however I really love the cover photo as well so I’m not committing to that just yet. There are the promised sheet of stickers included, as well, most notably a couple of flying monkeys that I know I’ll be using on the back pocket if not the inside cover. They are stylish and well done stickers, not childish in the least. The inside cover also tells you all about where the proceeds of your purchase will be going and this is one moleskine book that I will have set aside for a certain kind of writing to go with the theme. It will definitely stand out from my other journals and sketchbooks and at the moment I am keeping up with my calligraphy skills and the thick pages are perfect for ink, be it hand dipped or fountain pen. It came along at exactly the right time and if you’ve never tried the moleskine brand, this is a FANTASTIC deal if you can catch the sale price to check one out. Whether you’re an artist or you love the art of lettering by land, I assure you that you will be hooked. From the perfectly smooth covers that last literally forever (I still have my first one that is a few decades old and is in fantastic condition) to the thick paper that can take just about any medium for artists or even spilled ink, which won’t bleed through even one page, there’s really nothing not to love. Of course, you’ll end up wishing that they had more pages but the quality I can honestly say makes them well worth the price. These are the books that will last beyond your lifetime and that you can journal family history into and can become part of your legacy.
