The seat area is light grey and is padded and comfortable, but the whole toilet and especially the seat is quite small. If you are on the large side it may be difficult to use comfortably. Overall I was quite impressed by construction and engineering and think it's a great value. Each box has 2 holes - one for dispensing (I am guessing) and another hole to just reach in. The dispensing hole is too small, so the bags have to be threaded out of the larger hole. The lids also do not latch. They slide in, which means they can slide right out. Now, do they hold trash bags? Absolutely. They do hold trash bags. I got the large containers to hold 10-gallon and 13-gallon bags. I do not have bags small enough for the small containers, but I like those for holding extra soap bottles and washcloths, so these plastic bins are multi-purpose. The plastic appears to be good quality; the lids are fairly thick, and the containers stack well. Overall, I do think these are useful storage bins.
