And that's the end of similarities. QCYZTL's filter frame is thick felt, and the filters are glued in...and a lot of this glue is visible. When unfolded open, this filter does not lie flat. If the carbon filter is actually carbon, I'll be surprised. The alleged bits look more like rubber nubs; these nubs do not move in response to gravity like Coway's carbon particles. When compared side by side, both filters are the same size. But otherwise they very different. If blindfolded the OEM Coway filter is firm, flat, and the carbon bits move freely in their cells. The QCYZTL is soft where glue is not present, needs pressure to lie flat, and is silent when jostled. These "replacement" filters surely work better than nothing, but I don't expect them to match Coway's function, especially if you need HEPA filtration. -⭐️ Poor construction -⭐️ Low quality materials I would remove a third star if I could accurately compare the "carbon" but I can't without taking apart the QCYZTL filter. Zane*** I had wanted to install a UV-C light in my HVAC system for quite a while but hadn't found a unit that was both affordable and looked easy to install, while also not going to possibly cause damage to the system or affect the health of my family and pets in a negative way with corrosive, oxidizing, ozone output (185nanometer). When I saw this 36w, CARB certified for low/no ozone (254nanometer) offering from TURBRO that also had an airflow sensor for saving power and increasing the lifespan of the tubes, I had to give it a try. After a few weeks of the unit running I'm quite pleased with it in all regards. Plus, it was a bargain compared to others I've looked at before. Installation was straightforward and for me at least the kit came with all the needed tools, other than a drill, and some good "flex fix" plastic heat resistant ducting tape that I already had from adding a duct booster fan to a weak blowing leg of my HVAC system previously. It did come with a sheet of foam sealing tape that can be used to make a gasket type seal between the lamp driver and the duct you install it into., or to use as sealing tape around the unit as needed, The included hole saw was the correct size and very sharp, which made a clean perfectly sized hole to both insert the lamp through and then attach the lamp driver over. A easy to use template is included to help locate and mark your instillation location. The install took me about 20 minutes total. The instructions said it was best to run the unit 24/7 for 1-2 days to properly "burn in" the light and also to get a good start on killing any existing mold or germs that are already in the ducting. It also said that for that 24-48 hours that there may be a unusual smell. I can confirm this. It smelled a bit like the "after tanning bed" burnt organics smell, but it wasn't overpowering. After about a day and a half the odd smell was completely gone in my setup, but yours may vary. After that initial period I switched the unit to "auto" and now it only comes on when the main HVAC blower fan is active. When putting my clamp meter on the input power to the lamp driver it confirmed that while running it was using between 35-45 watts from the outlet, this matches the description on the listing While some other reviews I read had some issues with mounting either the lamp driver or the bulb itself . but in my case it was very simple and mounting went smoothly. Plus since the unit happily y runs Since installing the lamp the air in my home does seem fresher and also the smells from cooking etc seem to fade away much more quickly now than before installing. Its also certainly nice to know that any germs, mold, or viruses that wander into my HVAC system will be deactivated and unable to harm my home or family. Only a couple things to watch out for, the length of the 36w bulb requires at least 16 inches of free space in front of the lamp driver. to properly fit without hitting the other side of duct. So, be sure to choose a spot with ample space in all directions prefereably in the main stream of air from the HVAC blower before it branches out so some sections of your system arent left unexposed to the light. Also, its best not to touch the quartz glass of the tube with bare hands, similar to halogen work lamps, as it can lead to the premature failure of the lamp. The easiest solution to this restriction is to just wear some clean cotton or nitrile gloves when handling. The instructions suggest inspecting the bulb, and cleaning if necessary every 6 months or so, and most UV-C lamps of this type are rated for 10-15k hours. With this units airflow sensor that time should be extended even longer since it wont run the lamp when airflow isn't detected. I quickly checked the lamps condition after 2 weeks of running and it still appeared pristine with no signs of browning or defects B0H1CXMH7X US
