I took the risk of it not being calibrated and it came slightly off. The needle wasn’t exactly at zero, but it wasn’t way off. I didn’t find the gauge easy to read. It inflated fine. The release valve was tricky. I would try to release it and no air was coming out so I released more and it went too quickly (could be user error lol, but my boyfriend said the same thing) I also didn’t like the extra tag on the cuff because it covers the gauge. I have an automatic set, but I am really old school when it comes to accuracy of someone's health. This cuff is easy to use, a good size with it's tubing to the hand pump and number dial. It has a spot on the cuff I can use as a guide to where to place the cuff for an accurate reading. I always recommend having the "old school" equipment even if you have the newer automatic monitors.
