In the basic count mode it will stop when you're not jumping for a bit (my guess is roughly 15 to 20 seconds?) The rope it comes with is pretty light and not as smooth as in the picture. I used to try to count in my head before I found this rope. The app is the best part. So far from May-November 2020 I’ve had to buy 3 sets of these because they all stopped functioning or broke in some way. All 3 stopped had connection issues. 1st one I bought stopped connecting completely. 2nd set stopped turning. And the 3rd set the push buttons to change battery fell out and also stopped connecting. The rope is very flimsy if your jumping indoors you might be ok but it will wear out quickly if are jumping outside or on any rough surfaces. The app is great I actually got about 8-10 of my friends to buy it (they don’t use it as much as I do) so we could use the competition function. Only thing the app needs is a countdown function other than that it’s great the rope for the price not so much. Rope gets 3/10 stars app 9/10 stars.
