ZP90 Connect (2008) - White 5 Sonos is Fantastic B*** I have used some variation of Sonos for the past 2.5 years. I have used a Play3, Play5, and the Sonos Connect. I currently have 2 Connects in the house and will be buying another in the next month. I have used the Sonos Connect in 2 areas, both in a little bit different scenario. I have ceiling mounted speakers in 4 different rooms with the wire all running to a common area I refer to as my IT closet. In the IT closet I use an amplifier to power the speakers. A Sonos Connect is installed as an input to the amplifier. This scenario has worked great for me. It allows me to use a single Sonos product (they are pricey) as an input to four rooms. All of the rooms are common areas in my downstairs so that I would never want a different input playing in each of the rooms. Each room in my setup has an in-wall volume control, but I could bypass the inwall volume control and use the Sonos system if I wanted equal volume adjustments across the 4 rooms. I like the in-wall volume control because I can adjust each room independent of the others locally. I set the Sonos connect so that it would not change the volume. I also have a Sonos Connect as part of my living room audio/video setup. The Sonos Connect in the living room serves 2 functions: as an input into the Sonos system and as an output for delivering music/sound to my speakers. Using Sonos as in input in a TV setting is a little tricky because there is a minuscule delay. The delay is not noticeable visually but is noticeable if an adjacent room is broadcasting the input. When I first got the Sonos connect I duplicated the audio signal to the Sonos and used it to play the sound from the cable box to a Play5 in an adjacent room. This created a very noticeable and annoying echo. The trick is that you have to not only use the Sonos to broadcast the sound throughout the house, you need to use it's output locally as well. This puts all the speakers with the same minuscule delay. The delay is not noticeable visually at the TV, but can only be picked up by the echo created with adjacent speakers. My setup using an HDMI matrix with an analog audio out. The HDMI matrix sends digital audio to my receiver but I also have an input on the receiver for watching TV using Sonos sound. On this input the receiver uses the video from the HDMI input but for audio it uses the audio out from Sonos. At that point the audio coming through my home theater setup is analog but it is through the Sonos system. When adjacent rooms broadcast the TV audio through Sonos everything is synced up at this point. I highly recommend a Play3, Play5, or Connect. The only reason I can't recommend the other components is because I haven't used them. However, the thing that makes the components so great is the Sonos system so I am sure the Play1, Soundbar, and Amp are all great products as well. B001OBV7T2 US

ONE-CK 2 Go with Datacomm. (You can thank me later!) Chr*** I used Datacomm with one cable management. It's really well designed for installation. I tried Powerbridge this time because the in-wall plate is smaller and I wanted to hide the management system behind a soundbar. It was perfect in theory. However, there's one really big flaw with Powerbridge's installation design. When you screw in the box to the wall, there's an anchor that catches on the drywall from the back. This is how the box stays attached to the wall. If you have installation, the anchor can catch on it and you have to unscrew and screw it back in. That's what happened to me. The problem was that I unscrewed it all the way and the anchor fell off the screw and to the bottom of the floor behind my drywall. There's no way I can retrieve that plastic anchor. And no, the Powerbridge box has no wall of attaching to the wall for me. I think this is a major design flaw. If they even just included an extra screw anchor, that would suffice for this mistake. I bought a soundbar to improve the sound quality for my Roku TV. What I should have done, was find an ARC-enabled soundbar; then my TV remote would have been able to control the soundbar and TV as one device... but I didn't. This meant I had two remotes to deal with. I had to power both devices separately and the soundbar remote would often be lost under the couch when a sudden volume change was needed. I decided to find a programmable remote to try and salvage the situation and merge both devices into one. The reason I chose this remote was that it has macro and volume-lock functionality for a very reasonable price. I didn't want to run into the situation where I had a programmable remote with TV as "device A" and soundbar as "device B" but still having to switch between devices on the remote to change channels or volume, to me that would only be marginally better than still having two remotes. With this inteset remote I was able to easily find codes for each device and program them into the remote, create a macro to power-on both devices together with one button press, and enable volume lock so the TV mode would control the soundbar volume. For my setup this remote was the perfect solution. As a plus, the ergonomics and functionality of the remote are on-point. The short on the bass quality - no difference to my stock speakers, but I must qualify my stock speakers are of good quality and driven by a top-end Pioneer 8870 headunit. So why did I buy a underseat woofer? Two reasons - (1) I am more than satisfied with my sound setup, but (like almost anyone) my stock speakers are on the doors, and while they are more than adequate to deliver the bass I want (the speakers won't crackle), they rattle the doors when pumping bass, and anyone will know the doors are full of moving parts and can never be taped down totally. (2) I do not want to waste space for a woofer enclosure, the box woofer fits perfectly under the seat and is out of sight, I'm not gonna to cramp the car with electronics and leave the car as next to useless for its intended purpose. Why did I buy this particular woofer? Two reasons - (1) Unorthodox technology and Looks cool. (2) It's thinner than other underseat woofers. My car seats are electrically powered and have little vertical space. this woofer fits just nice. There are cheaper units such as SSL, Boss, Soundstorm and more expensive ones like Apline, JBL. If you have space to put a sub in the truck or have high seats, get a 10-inch. If you want a powered woofer, go hunt down the excellent Infinity Basslink. Don't complain about this woofer....lol. LG Electronics SJ9 5.1.2 Channel High Resolution Audio Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos (2017 Model) 5 My Review of the LG SJ9 Nel*** This is the first sound bar Ive ever owned. Coming from a 7.1 surround sound system which was advertised at 1200W total. That being said, that system was first purchased over 5 years. In tears of power, if someone had told me that this sound bar was rated at 1200W I would of believed them. I compared this one to the competition, the Samsung Atmos bar HW-K950 which released around the same time. I was able to test out both of them at the local best buy. Power wise they were very similar although in terms of build I felt the LG one is far more stylish. **OVERALL SOUND** I have the bar setup with my LG OLED55E6, voices and lows sound great and really add to any show you may be watching. The bar comes with several preset options, movie,music, bass boost to name a few. I usually have the volume between 8-15 on movie mode. I feel movie mode has the best balance between highs,lows and voice. At 8 you have a moderate loudness but at 15 the sound bar is really starts showing what it can do. Only gripe so far is that the overall sound seems to suffer when set below 10 while gaming. Halo for instance, gunshots will sound very slightly muffled but once set to 12 or higher they are as crisp as can be. I should note many people will probably never notice this, its very slight and its probably the audiophile in me. Bluetooth functionality on this is a breeze to setup and can be blasting music from youre phone. I cant speak for the LG app as I never use it as I keep all my music on my phone. **ATMOS AND SURROUND SOUND*** Using the ARC (Audio Return Channel) hooked up via HDMI from my TV. Set up is a breeze by the way. Ive played Star Trek into Darkness as well as a few youtube videos which "should" be putting out an ATMOS signal. I can definitely say the soundbar does a very decent job of simulating a surround environment. Ive gone as far as putting my ear onto the upward firing drivers, which put out higher pitched sounds. I believe this is to better be able to bounce the audio off my ceiling. While it doesn't compare to my previous 7.1 surround it believe it does an 8 out of 10 job in regards to this. There have been several instances in my gaming and movies were sound does appear to be coming from around you. Hope this review helps anyone who may be looking for a new sound bar. A big issue is it has no wifi connectivity aka no airplay, spotify connect, or multi room support etc. The sh7 last year had way more connectivity options.You have to manually change the inputs if you switch form the tv to music and back. Bluetooth range is limited compared to other speaker I have. I had the wireless sub dropped out several times and the sound was just average in general. Another issue is the speakers require 2 separate large power supplies (think laptop power size). At the very minimum you should be able to use one power supply and a connecting cable between the 2 speakers. This creates an unnecessary cord nightmare in terms or trying to hide the excess. Fire TV Cube (1st Gen) 4 Honest opinion John*** It works about 90% of the time in all aspects. Occasionally it’s slow to respond some skills take time to sync, and sometimes Alexa doesn’t here me but that’s only 10% of the time.That’s why I’m only giving it 4 out of 5 stars as there is definitely room for improvement. Fire TV Stick 4K 5 I never knew it could be this good! A*** I have had trouble for years with streaming in the back master bedroom. My NYC apartment isn't huge so I have always been baffled. I have tried an extender - no improvement. I then wired ethernet cable from the router, through the hallway closets around doorways to the bedroom directly into the extender, expecting that the router being wired might help - no luck. I was settling with the idea that watching tv in my bedroom was a gift, luxury or a surprise - lucky if you get it. I read reviews that this 4K firestick can help improve performance even if you do not have a 4K television (which I definitely do not). With the half off offer from amazon, I figured why not try it. I am so glad I did and wished I would have earlier. I never knew it could be so great - actually being able to watch tv in my bedroom :) After being denied consistent service for so long, this is truly a delight. I click and things move so fast. I am able to navigate faster than in the living room which still has an older model fire stick, but is right near the router. I can stream shows and movies with no problem or buffering at all. We are considering upgrading the living room now. If you are having trouble with streaming, do not hesitate to get this fire stick - even if it is back to full price - it is worth every penny. I had the new 4k stick for a couple days and just was too lazy to install it immediately. My last straw was when I woke up to the old fire stick giving me the familiar no connection message and when I went to scan for available networks it said my router and the extender was not in range. Out of frustration I said let me just install the new 4K. It connected with no problem while the old one couldn't even find my router in range. Bonus - it connected to my soundbar without a problem either, so I can put that extra remote away and control the volume as well with my great new 4k remote. LG UBK90 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray Player with Dolby Vision (2018) 5 Great starter player for 4K Ninten*** The bottom line on this, IMHO, is that it is a good starter 4K disc player with very good upscaling of blu ray and DVD, especially blu ray. It is not a $1000 4K disc player. It is not a $500 disc player. Regarding compatibility with a 4K TV, I can only speak about my experience with my large QLED samsung TV. I had trouble with dark scenes looking good through this player, even after using the Disney blu ray calibration disc. Otherwise, Ready Player One 4k looks great. Guardians of the Galaxy blu ray is superb. Star Wars Episode V DVD upscales very, very nicely. But every dark scene in my setup just looks so muted. This player seemed to do fine with sending Atmos and 5.1 surround sound tracks to my sound system, so no complaints from my ears, but perhaps there is more out there. I suspect this player with some TVs will simply be spectacular. With others, maybe not so great. At a price of about $100 (I paid a little over this), it can get you going. I have owned mine for roughly one year, and I have concluded I need to try another player. The mid range Panasonic just went on sale, so I will try that one. I will have to update my review in a month or so with comparison notes. --------------- Update I stand by my statement that this is an excellent starting 4K disc player, and still think this will perform awesome with some TVs. I will now compare to the Panasonic UB820. The Panasonic wins on HDR features. Easily adjusts my picture brightness, noticeably so, and that made me super happy (see above comments). The LG wins on audio setup with my equipment, using a Samsung atmos soundbar and no receiver. The less expensive LG for whatever reason could pass atmos and picture flawlessly through the ARC and back. With the Panasonic, I went through many iterations of setup before compromising on optical audio between the QLED TV and soundbar & having confirmed atmos on a direct HDMI from the disc player to the soundbar. I had to have atmos from the discs, and having the picture and sound together is just so enjoyable. 5.1 Dolby digital from other sources (Roku, antenna, gaming) was acceptable to me. Netflix is available on both disc players and both have better Netflix picture and audio than through my Roku Premiere (all equally connected by ethernet), but my Roku remains my go-to streamer. Bose Bass Module 500 Black 1 “Where’s the bass” Ri*** I thought I was upgrading my Vizio sound system by getting a Bose 300 soundbar and Subwoofer 500 module. “where’s the base?”, it is non existent. Wasted money on the name, expected so much more from Bose. I have it connected using the arch/hdmi connection, the soundbar is crystal clear, I’m not getting any bass sound from the subwoofer, can anyone help with a solution?
