I was watching a ball game and simple could not get the soundbar working after 45 minutes of trying. So I changed the settings on the TV to revert back to the standard TV speakers. Then next morning I started from square one and unplugged all power and connections from the soundbar and reinstalled. It now works fine. Bottom line--my TV remote can control some functions on my lights and the light remote can control some functions of my sound system. I'm very careful now on what I push now. I turn on the lights first, then use use the TV/soundbar remote. I have it figured out how to NOT have this happen again, but really shouldn't have to do this. There's a wire that connects these to EACH sub. They don't need to be powered. These can be placed in a stand or mounted. 3. There are TWO subs! This & the price were the deciding factors for me. 2 subs really set this system apart. The subs are great, really adds to my experience. Overall the sound quality is amazing. This thing gets LOUD. My living room. Is 24x40, loft style & this system fills the room. The bass shakes my couch. The first film I watched was Blade runner 2049 - totally different experience than the 1st time. *System is Dolby Atmos capable! And works with ARC, which is dope. Can connect my Bluetooth devices. *Have this paired with Samsung q90 65" *Volume goes 2 #s at a time, all the way to 100, but I don't really need to go past 55, 75 if I'm being ridiculous! It literally shakes the couch. I highly recommend. Not too long so you’re winding it up and trying to find a place to hide the extra length, but not so short that your options of where to put your output device are limited. If, though, you are looking to place your laptop/tablet/phone further away then you’ll definitely need something longer. My streaming amplifier is one of the newer ones from the Japanese audio company that starts with “M”. I’ve always used it in wireless streaming mode. However, I recently installed an app that’s supposed to help with room correction, but it only works through Bluetooth or a direct connection. Unfortunately, for some reason the app doesn’t work over this cable, but I can absolutely play audio whether it’s streaming or direct from my music app. And, it sounds just as good as high bitrate streaming. So, aside from that one small disappointment, which is not the fault of this cable, I highly recommend getting this if you’re looking to connect a USB-A or C device to your amp’s optical input. It looks and feels to be solidly built and in my limited listening session I didn’t note any audio difference between music coming over this cable and the same tracks played over the high bitrate wireless connection. Seera*** In my day, things like this were called a "boom box" or "ghetto blaster" and were generally held to "high fidelity" stds in the better made units..this was generally accepted as 20Hz to 20kHz, about the range of normal human hearing. Now a days, well, things are NOT made like they used to be:(. For instance these current roll cage mounted units include light shows, and what is claimed as "low bass" has crept up to 50Hz or even 60Hz as reproducing low bass frequencies is more difficult and thus expensive. Just as we used to measure power output in terms of RMS, now it's 'Peak Power' which is basically a way of inflating the numbers satisfy aggressive marketing departments; AND, it's easier/cheaper to boot. In any event, given the limits of what someone blasting around the dunes or through the forests at speed in an UTV can hear, these frame mounted units have foregone the low end to pump out a lot of volume, which, though not entirely enjoyed by those persons seeking to experience the tranquility of the wilds, seems emblematic of today's "hunger" to be noticed, and seen as rebellious and defiant:(. This is common to the young and nothing really new. In any event, I'm old, I value the pastoral quality of the outdoors, and driving around blaring a rock concert thru the wilderness is NOT my thing. On the other hand, if you're out gathering for events, and/or raucous partying thru the night with your friends (hey I may be old but I can still remember ;) then these sound/light bar devices may be just what you're looking for. The fact that they can be synchronized makes the party even better. This offering from Kemimoto is on the smaller range of available units @ 20 inches, but they offer larger, more powerful versions should you be seeking 'MORE' :) Though the speakers are relatively small, they can put out a substantial amount of sound. The unit's construction is pretty solid and won't fall to pieces any time soon. They're also "Water Resistant" which will help when blasting across small streams/puddles etc.:) and they don't look too bad at all. If you're in the market, these aren't bad units to take a look at, just know that the market is large and there are a lot of units to choose from. Figure out what you need, and make your choice. [Audio] The sound quality is certainly not what I'd expect from any thousand dollar system. It's thin, limited, and doesn't 'expand' throughout the room as advertised. The signal cuts out briefly whenever you do anything with the source, but this wasn't unexpected as other reviewers mentioned the same. It had become very annoying and borderline unbearable over the limited time spent with it. The subwoofers introduce ambient bass after messing with the config, but it's nothing that couldn't be replicated with any single mid-range subwoofer. The rear speakers were kinda cool. They aren't high quality, but they don't need to be. However, I loved the idea that the rears plugged into the wireless subs and removed the need for wires wrapping around the room in various creative ways. [Video] This is the reason I couldn't keep it. When the video worked, the soundbar introduced noise over HDMI. The rest of the time it cut in and out for about ten seconds before it stabilized. Whether it decided on passing a video signal to the TV was entirely based on luck. Clearly I shouldn't play the lottery because it landed on a flickering screen more often than not. There were quite a few times where the video would instantly come through clear but the audio was mute for a minute or so. Having this kind of inconsistency is not acceptable for such a high dollar product. [Final Thoughts] At the end of its life attached to my TV, I upgraded the FW to v33 (most recent as of writing). The introduced noise has appeared to go away but the rest of the issues mentioned remain. It's way more frustrating than it's worth, and given the step down in audio quality, I'd much rather have the 1K back in my wallet. Clearly soundbars are a great solution if you're limited on space, but if you have enough room, do yourself a favor and build a system instead. You'll be much happier in the long run. Setup: This is just a breeze. Have a few decent quality HDMI 2.1 cables, plug them into the right spots in the quick setup guide, do your best to position the speakers at the right places as described in the quick setup guide, and then plug in again....and you're more or less done. I would emphasize that speaker placement does matter. So perhaps do some research on the room you're going to put these in and decide if you can get decently close to being able to place the speakers where intended. A few places have mentioned that you need to do a USB firmware update to add some features like Dolby, but when I started to go through it, my system told me that the latest firmware was already there. So if you're buying today, you don't need to do that step. And I love the sound quality. The dual base is just magnificent, but even more importantly is the clarity of the voices. With me personally, one of my big pet peeves has always been how sometimes dialog is drowned out in games or movies because of to loud sound effects, but that is not a problem with this system. The various sound presets make sure to adjust so that voices come across very clearly. Speaking of the presets, they're perfectly named for the type of media that they're supposed to be used on. For example, I video game a lot so the Gaming preset is one of the ones that I use the most. It ups the surround sound of he speakers behind so when you're walking through, for example, a busy city you hear the sounds of the city all around. But if you instead are listening to music and you select the Music preset, it ups the front soundbar and the two dual subwoofers to feel like you're at a live concert with the band onstage playing at you. There's two other features that I particularly like. The first is that the remote has an ability to specify whether the system is setup in a small, medium or large room. It then adjusts the output accordingly. So since I'm in a large room with very high ceilings, meaning less room for the sound to bounce off and reverberate back and more room for it to dissipate, it increases certain volume levels. (And vice versa.) The second is a dedicated "Night" button on the remote. I'm sometimes restless at night. That combined with having different work hours means that my wife and I don't 100% of the time go to bed at the same time. The "Night" button at a single touch (like with the presets) automatically adjusts some of the volume levels around to account for this sort of thing. Nakamichi 7.2.4Ch 800W Dolby Atmos Soundbar with Dual Subwoofers, Rear Speakers - 360° Cinema Sound 5 Met Expectations J*** Quick delivery from Amazon and installation was straight forward. Purchasing in fall 2020 the system is shipped with a USB stick with instructions to upgrade the firmware as part of getting started. This was pretty easy though and was able to do it in < 5 minutes without issues. Overall the sound was great connected to my LG TV using the eARC ports once I selected one of the EQ settings on the remote. For some reason mine still defaults to “DSP Off” setting which results in a flat and quiet sound, but once i choose Movie or any other EQ setting on the remote it is fantastic. I did have one big issue with the first unit I received. Every 10-30 seconds I would get a very loud popping sound out of one of the surround speakers which I could not resolve. I went through all of the troubleshooting with WiFi settings, pairing, replacing RCA cables, flipping speakers, etc but nothing helped. I contacted their support via email to explain the issue, they asked me to send them a video of the problem to help them understand. After I did that we went through a few troubleshooting steps, initially they wanted to send me some replacement parts for both subwoofers but I was skeptical that would solve the issue. Given it was in both speakers a manufacturing defect in both subwoofers seemed highly unlikely, they listened to me though and agreed to just send a replacement unit rather than drag the process out. They gave me a shipping label and as soon as the tracking had been received by UPS they sent a new one. It was pretty fast, i think I dropped off the unit thursday morning and had the new one by Friday morning. New unit works great so must have been something with the first once i received. I went through the same install progress and have been very happy with the purchase since.
