However, so far, I've had a less than ideal experience with this desk. Pros: • The hardware seems sturdy and well-built, though I haven't completed full assembly yet. Cons: • Reversibility problems: Despite the marketing materials and manual showing "Option A" and "Option B," the desk doesn't appear to be truly reversible. The assembly steps for the two options look essentially identical, and the dimension differences make no sense. After swapping the short and long supporting beams and rods (which I assume is what the manual was supposed to show me), I was able to get the right frame size for my layout. However, even after that, it seems the motor and control panel can't be re-positioned and must be on the right side of the desk. The legs can't be mirrored either. When placing two of these desks back-to-back, the legs and control panels will be rotated instead of mirrored, so neither look symmetrical. • Inaccurate dimensions: The product listing shows 70.9" x 63". I measured the desktop at 70.980" x 63.105", which is about what I'd expect when considering manufacturing tolerances. However, what I wasn't expecting was for the legs to extend an additional 2.25"-2.50" beyond the back of the desktop. In my case, this results in a footprint closer to 71" x 65.25". This results in a pretty significant gap between the desk and the wall. In my case, this made it impossible for me to do my preferred layout, since I was planning on placing two desks side-by-side against a 128" wall. I knew it would be tight, but I assumed the extra 2" I had would be plenty for manufacturing tolerances, as I wasn't expecting each desk to be more than 2" wider than advertised. • Quality control issues: The support crossbeam was collapsed too far from the manufacturer, which resulted in some internal plastic being completely smashed. I had to use pliers to remove this plastic so that I could insert the screw that connects the crossbeam to the rest of the frame, but that was a lot more difficult without the plastic guide. I was also missing 3 screws for one of the mounting brackets for the desktop. The desktop was also a bit dirty, but I was able to get it cleaned up easily enough with some cleaning wipes. • Poor manual: Others already mentioned this, but I'll echo it: the manual is extremely poor. As mentioned earlier, the steps for Option A and Option B are basically identical, and I'm pretty sure that's because the instructions are wrong. The manual doesn't make it clear why you'd want to choose one option over the other. I took a look at the online manual to see if it was better, and it was even worse. It's missing final assembly pages, and has a packing list with incorrect quantities for several parts. Overall, between the misleading reversibility claims, inaccurate dimensions, damaged parts, missing hardware, late shipping, dirtiness, and poor documentation, this has been a frustrating purchase. I contacted support and hope they can clarify if the desk is actually reversible and I'm just misunderstanding that, as that would solve a lot of my concerns. I'm also hoping they'll let me return at least the desktop so that I can get a different one that fits my preferred layout. The only downside to this product is that you cannot “pause” your progress if you need to go to the restroom or jump off for a moment, it restarts the distance tracker as soon as you stop it. They do have an app that allows you to Bluetooth connect to the device and track total mileage that way, but I found that the data on the app didn’t match the device so I don’t use the app any more. I prefer a larger workspace with room for an extra monitor and some papers, making most commercial desk conversion products unsuitable. I ended up putting this lift on top of an old printer caddy (lower than a desktop, has wheels) with a piece of plywood for the desk surface. I could not be happier. The lift is sturdy and stable enough to support a good sized work surface, moves up and down easily, and comes with a remote control, which is more useful than I had expected. At some point I will build this into a more permanent structure, but most important to me was that with this and a few minutes work, I was able to solve my problem. On the down-side, this thing is bulky, heavy, thick when compacted, and won't win any style awards. It is also very likely too thick when collapsed to put on top of a standard desk if you hope to use it in both sitting and standing mode. For my purposes, none of these is a big deal.
