Logitech G602 Lag-Free Wireless Gaming Mouse – 11 Programmable Buttons, Upto 2500 DPI 1 Mediocre, especially given the price tag, and just flat out atrocious if you're a gamer Scott Leu*** Pros: - Solid-feeling mouse. Has a good weight to it, and glides nicely on my mousepad. - One of the very very VERY few mice left that has 6 buttons on the side. Everything else is 2 or 12. /sigh - Wireless, which I guess is a pro for at least some people (definitely not for me, though). Also, unlike some wireless mice, since it relies on replaceable batteries, it has no charging cable and thus not even an option to use it in wired mode. - Swappable batteries means if it runs low, you don't have to put it on a charger and wait or something. Personally, I just bought some rechargeable AAs and swap them out as needed. Cons: - Logitech software is GARBAGE. Actual dumpster fire. I've used a lot of gaming peripheral software, and you can find people saying any of them is "the worst", but Logitech's really is *uniquely* atrocious. It's arcane, difficult to use, completely backwards in a lot of common features, and just frustrating to interact with. The onboard memory seems to be completely impossible to configure, as GHUB can't interact with it and the Logitech Onboard Memory Manager can't even see the damn mouse. On top of that, the software either crashes or has to be force-restarted 1-3 times per week, because it either loses the current key config, or bizarrely starts playing both the configured bind and the default bind for that key simultaneously. - No built-in battery and no optional cable means sometimes it just dies in the middle of what you're doing and you have to go swap the batteries. Rechargeable AAs are basically mandatory. - No built-in low battery warning, it just suddenly dies. - No RGB, or lighting period, for that matter. The only lights on the thing are a DPI indicator on the side, and a patch right behind the scroll wheel for indicating battery, except that only lights up when you first turn it on OR if you sacrificing one of the buttons on the mouse to "show battery level" (which, by default, the G6 button on the side is bound to). Pretty darn useless, tbh. - 2500 is a remarkably low DPI these days, and you can feel it. I actually had to go turn up mouse sensitivity in Windows and all my games because I'm used to closer to ~6000. My prior mouse has a top DPI of 16000 (and cost 2/3rds as much), and some of the newer wireless mice out there have literally 10x the DPI of this thing. - Side buttons are a bit loud, though they also have a pretty solid-feeling actuation. - The wireless dongle has serious issues keeping a stable connection, especially if the system processor is under load at the time. Very commonly suffer stuttering and fraction-of-a-second disconnects in the mouse movement. Any metal or cables nearby also tend to screw with its connection. It's a mediocre mouse at best that is made dramatically worse by the literal worst-in-class peripheral software. The lighting features are done right. The durability of the material for the pad is holding up against my marathon quarantine gaming hours. Tracking for the mouse is smooth. The underside of the mat does a good job sticking and staying to one spot on the desk. The stitching along the edge that holds the light strip is well made. I've had this for a couple months now, and its basically still "like new." Get this one if you're in the market and don't need to have a brand name sitting on your desk. Best bang for your buck.
