Here is what I did: 1) Open the rock package 2) Dump them in a bowl 3) Pour some dish soap on them 4) Fill bowl with extremely hot water. Let them soak. 15 minutes or more. 5) When the water is cool enough to stick your hand in, agitate the rocks against each other to knock loose any remaining dirt 6) Rinse the rocks thoroughly with cool water 7) Repeat the above process again If you do this one time when you open the fountain, you will NOT have noise issues! I have been running mine 10+ hours/day, every day, for at least 3 months, and it is still SILENT. Splash radius - Yes, I did go to HomeGoods and bought a pretty, simple wooden tray to sit this on because like any tabletop fountain, you will get some droplets here and there. It isn't bad at all, but I would say prepare for 6-8 inches to the front and sides of this to get a tiny drop/two per hour. Also yes, do use filtered water and change the water weekly. J*** Very disappointed, must be connected to internet I wanted to like this product and on many levels I did. I bought it to use with a new schlage connect Camelot lock. That's important for a number of reasons. 1) It's my front door. It's my home. It's my family. As good as their internet security might be and as reliable and ubiquitous as the internet has become, I can't trust my family to a cloud auth controlled access to my best security mechanism protecting my home. 2) The schlage connect has a remote unlock feature--which is a terrible, terrible idea in my opinion--and so it gets exposed vis the Vera UI. This isn't a problem per se, but the UI button to control it is a simple radial toggle right next to the touch button for configuring pins and access. I hit on accident more than once trying to figure out the UI. While that might not be a problem in general, it means that if o accidentally push this button while away from my home (I.e. on vacation out of state), and suppose my door opens just a bit when the deadbolt retracts, as mine often does, then the lock will fail to re-lock and my front door will be open and unlocked to everyone. I could fiddle with me door to make it a super perfect clean close, but that's just not practical in an old New England house. 3) There's no real way to disable the internet access and have anything resembling a happy experience. There are no local users. All users are internet users and all auth happens in the cloud. You can log in to the hub as an access point, but then you can't add devices or anything unless you have Vera cloud users. If I were using this to control kitchen lights and smart plugs and normal IOT goo, it might not be as big of a deal since the stakes as lower. Literally giving the keys to my front door to another company who hosts those keys in the cloud, its a big, big difference. Vera should understand this, which is why I would be giving them only 1 star. That said, I gave them an extra star for their simplicity and Lack of monthly fees. Also, I original bought the VeraPlus which I returned for the same reason. I called Vera support to get guidance assuming there would be a way for advanced users to configure local accounts and was told the Plus required an internet connection. He assured me the VeraEdge was the product that allows local accounts so I gave it a try knowing that I could trust Amazon return policies. Needless to say he was wrong. I will be looking elsewhere for other ZWave controllers or maybe sitting out until the market matures further. The safety risk just isn't worth it to me. With the scheduling option, I can set my 7 Surface Hubs (independently) to power on and power off. This means, no more having multiple devices on all night and including weekends. Another useful control piece, for those that use network extenders (I use TpLinks) is the ability to cycle the power/reboot these even when you are not home. If you have other users and or devices reliant on the extenders and they are not talking, you simply turn the Kasa device off for 30 seconds and then turn back on. **remember the Kasa has to be on an independent SSID and not the extender SSID; as you will loose connection to the Kasa once you turn it off** Let it come back online and test the devices connected to them (wireless security camera or maybe smart bulbs). I like the fact that I can also control the charging of my mobile phones too. I can set a schedule for our phone’s charging while we sleep. Set the schedule to start at 9pm and off a few hours later. Another helpful use, is plugging in battery chargers (AAA, AA, C, D, and 9 volt types). You can put the Kasa on a countdown timer for 8-10 hours and check the batteries the next day. Installation was easy. I have a strong wifi signal so setup was quick. However, setting up a schedule is another thing entirely. Why in the world you can't simply go to scheduling and plug in start and end times is beyond me. They make it more complicated by having to set up rules and then schedule through the rules. Even though the rule shows that you can add an end time when you set up a start time rule, the end time never works. I could only turn the lights on my Christmas tree on and off by setting up a rule for turning on and another rule for turning off. Why so complicated? And why show end times if they actually don't work? In addition to this overly complicated and poorly explained scheduling I am finding that the smartplug often comes on 15 to 20 minutes late for no apparent reason. I assume it gets the time directly from the app on my phone so certainly it should come on right on the minute it is set up to, not 15 minutes later. I have to revisit the same small patches again and again because it's not strong enough to suck them up. It turns what looks like an easy 10-second job into 5-10 minutes of repositioning, shaking and pressing the nozzle against a surface. I've tried recharging before each use as well, but it doesn't make a difference. I will definitely rethink impulsively buying other Eufy products in the future. *Update* Eufy shows why they have some of the best customer service in the business, by reaching out and offering to address my concerns. They provided me with one of their larger vacuums, which works great and picks up everything in sight - that shows they can definitely make a great product, and hopefully they tweak this design a little more for the next iteration with some of the improvements of their larger products. This handheld vac still isn't great at sucking up the tiny dust particles, but I'm bumping my review up to three stars to reflect their efforts to make it right for me. B07ZHY1B4C US

Had the same challenges that many have mentioned with attaching the 2.4Ghz devices to my dual band Google Nest WiFi and Google WiFi hybrid mesh. Pairing worked with Smartlife on my Google Guest network and walking away from the routers to force 2.4Ghz pairing. The Smartlife app is only OK, setting timers and actions is not the best interface.
