4317943 Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly 5 Not all that easy to install Road Ru*** Watched a youtube video on installing this unit. Seemed pretty straight forward. The plug on old icemaker was super hard to unplug till we figured there was a tab to push down on. Our freezer is deep so it was very awkward to work in confined space. The new icemaker wiring harness would not plug into old freezer plug so we took off the old wiring harness and swapped it to the new icemaker. Very difficult to remove old harness from old icemaker. Seems factory assembled and not meant to disassemble. Got the old harness on the new icemaker and was able to plug it into the freezer. Keep in mind if you do this, your icemaker has a thermometer on it and until the freezer reaches temperature, icemaker will not call for water and will not make cubes. You have to be patient for about 45 minutes before you will hear water entering the icemaker and then about 1 hour later a load of cubes will be harvested. In all, it should have been an easier job but nothing went right. The icemaker is happily making tons of ice now. B087B9YCX4 US

I have found if you use distilled water the ice cubes break up easier into cubes. It also keeps the machine clean on the inside. I don’t recommend using tap water at all! The machine gets a yellow film even with filtered water. Cleaning was a little challenging. I tried the self cleaner but honestly don’t know how that works so just emptied and cleaned myself with Young Living Thieves. We bought 2 months ago (April 2022) and we are super happy with it.
