There's no drivers or setup involved (unless your NIC or motherboard's network interface is missing drivers or outdated) either, so that's a huge plus. A few notes and warnings: This product takes up two AC outlets. That's my only real issue with it. By a grounded power strip or expansion plug (BUT DO NOT PLUG THIS INTO THE POWER STRIP -- PLUG THE POWER STRIP INTO THIS). This product comes with two ethernet cables already. The only things I added to this unit were some heavy books on the bottom shelf for stability because it needed it really badly, especially since it’s sitting between two moving recliners, and I also added a long pull chain for the light so I could turn it on and off from a sitting position, and some large clamping cup holders. I am soooo happy that I found this shelving unit/light because it worked out great! I highly recommend it! Cons: The light only takes a 60 watt bulb. I would have liked for it to take a higher wattage bulb. It’s pretty high up and the lampshade is darkish, so it’s more for mood lighting than reading lighting. I was delighted to find this, although (remember: teacher!) I was put off by the price, since you can’t really reuse this year to year (we have to clear out rooms so they can do deep cleaning each summer) because it is adhesive. So to save money I decided that 2.5 feet would be just enough (you can see I could have used another 6 inches or so in my pic above!) so I cut the roll in half. I’ve now used that roll up over the past 2 years, and I ordered the double pack which will last me 4 more...this thing is great! The adhesive was surprisingly durable, despite frequent traffic, and occasional roll-overs with my desk chair.
