The reviews on this item can be deceiving so I recommend reading the bad ones and proceed with caution. My issue with this is I tend to buy name brand items nowadays if I can do avoid cheap junk products. In my experience it's a better product that will last much longer. I had a phone charger plugged into the strip and it fried. I thought it was the charger as it was a few years old already. Then today my laptop charger was plugged in and stopped working and was extremely hot and swollen. I immediately unplugged it. After mulling it over I thought could it be the power strip? Then I read some of the reviews and there are almost 300 1 star reviews with most saying it almost caused a fire and a variety of other dangerous issues. Later I plugged the laptop charger into a different outlet and seemed to be working fine. These do come with a lifetime warranty and up to 80,000 dollars of electronics damage insurance if you read the fine print. I may see about getting a warranty replacement from GE and hope this was a dud but for now to be safe unplugged it and am using an Amazon Basics power strip instead. I will give it 2 stars because it does work and I can't say 100% that it's the power strip causing the issue but so far it's possibly ruined 1 and almost 2 other chargers. I would probably avoid this particular model and maybe GE strips altogether and go with another reputable brand. The Amazon basics work but have a very low joule rating for surges. The store finally let me exchange it for a new one, it charged their Samsung phone so it just HAD to be my iPhone or user error, showed them! Very pleased! I would advise to be gentle when plugging this into a power source, it seems like the plastic part that allows it to be plugged in both ways would break with heavy use or over time, I'll update if that happens, but for now I really love this thing!!
