The replacements are standard double-edge razor blades. They fit into the scrapper, but are not as wide as the scraper, so can't clean the corners. The company does not seem to sell the proper size replacements. A different company's photo implies they have the correct refill size. The initial blade it comes with is correct. The scraper has a nice angle and handle length for cleaning aquarium, and hasn't rusted. I rinse and dry it after use in my salt water tank. It's a bit delicate, but adequate, except that, unless I can find proper with replacement blades, it's no longer able to clean the corners of the tank. However they don't last that long. Depending on what you're cutting of course. For my application I'm cutting through thick cardboard every day which can be anywhere from two ply to three ply heavy cardboard. And I'm also cutting plastic straps. That seems to really put strain on utility knives. These utility knives are very sharp and cut so smooth you notice a difference from these blades versus other standard blades. They do stand out. However depending on your application of use and what you're cutting, if your cutting heavy duty stuff and plastic straps these may not last you so long. With extreme use at work I got one day use of them. Normal use for me I got about 1day and a half, couldn't quite get two days out of them for my application. If you're cutting thin cardboard and not using it for heavy duty use you might be able to get a couple days out of them. Straps really put stress on these utility blades, so keep that in mind. I do have to say that these utility blades are some of the most smoothest cutting feel wise I have used before. Just wish they could last longer for me.... Price is a little bit high for 100 blades. I would love to see these blades improved as far as durability, that's the only area it's lacking in. They cut smooth like butter, just doesn't do it long enough for Heavy duty use. ALLWAY GSK3 Glass and Tile Scraper Tool Kit 1 Very Dangerous & Other Design Flaws Chris *** Both the large and smaller scraper have serious safety issues, as well as usability issues, listed below. I am still on the hunt for something better. Lisle has a somewhat larger tool that is better, but haven't found anything for smaller work. Currently looking at Unger, Ettore, and some others. But I cannot recommend either of these ALLWAY products. SMALL SCRAPER ISSUES -Blade is extremely difficult to insert, even when following instructions. Handling these old school razor blades is already dangerous, but the mechanism to hold them is so tight that it makes it very easy to cut yourself when inserting or removing the blade. There simply is no safe way to do this unless wearing chain mail gloves or using a pair of pliers to hold the blade. -The mechanism that holds the blade in the working position constantly becomes disengaged when using. Sometimes simply due to pressure, other times because the disengage button is in right in the path of where your big dumb finger often pushes inadvertently. -The shape of this thing is just not very ergonomic, and makes gripping it securely a little challenging. LARGE SCRAPER ISSUES -The mechanism that holds the blade in the working position constantly becomes disengaged when using. Mostly because the disengage button is in right in the path of where your big dumb finger often rests. There should be a positive lock so that it cannot be disengaged. -They say that you can store the blade safely by reversing it, but the act of inserting or removing the blade is inherently dangerous, so this is simply a cost cutting measure that doesn't measure up. They really should have a simple piece that covers the blade for storage, or better yet, something retractable. -They give you 4 extra extremely sharp blades, but absolutely nowhere to store them. Overall I like the product a lot, but after using it for a couple a couple of months (estimated, on about 75 apples) there are a few issues with the design. Pros: it works and saves a lot of time. The metal blades (essentially welded razor blades) have held up so far without breaking, even with the amount of force required to push through the average apple (it requires some body weight). No mishaps with cuts to fingers. The product is sturdy and even though I couldn't find guidance on using a dishwasher, the blade portion held up without issue in the dishwasher. I hand wash the plastic guide. The plastic material looks like it might melt. The blades don't show any rust yet. The cons: the plastic guide is slightly misaligned with the blades. Even when you align it with the arrows, it's nearly impossible to get the blades to push through exactly with the guide. The guide is essential if you don't want to smash your fingers, risk bad cuts, break or damage the blades, and be able to slice through an apple easily and safely. Given the amount of force required to push through an apple, that leads to inevitable damage to the plastic guide, which clearly isn't going to hold up, long-term. It is also leading to dulling and slight nicks (so far) in the blades. It may lead to the blades breaking in the future. I'll update if that happens. Overall it's currently working and I'm pretty satisfied with the functionality, but I don't expect this to last for more than a few hundred apples. B076B5TV7Z US
