This arrangement allows me to listen to audio books while vacuuming or running power equipment outside without setting the hearing level to ear-bleed level. The only noise cancelling I got from these earbuds was passive just by inserting into my ear canal. Effectively useless and yes I reset it several times, followed the personal hearing test. Held the earbuds next to the vacuum cleaner motor. If I let the earbuds choose the sound suppression for the running vacuum it set it at moderate. If I set the sound suppression manually to strong (the highest setting), no difference between the 2 settings. Did I get a dud or do I have more sensitive hearing than most...no idea, but I do not recommend to anyone. They just don't suppress external noise. B0CRTR3PMF US
