Large Stainless-Steel Cocktail Shaker, 60 oz (Gold Plated) 3 Requires Modification Mr. L*** OK, first the positives: It is a large capacity mixer and it looks good. On the negative side, all the other reviews stating that it's impossible to separate the top once it's firmly are somewhat true. I thought those complaints were due to people not having the commonsense or adequate hand strength to pop the top off like we've had to do with smaller shakers of this style. Well, after the first use the lid simply wouldn't come off. We used hot water, cold water, a rubber mallet, banged it on the floor, etc. It finally came off after considerable effort. Once we got it apart again I took it out to my buffing wheel and buffed the gold coating off the lip that seals with the lid. I figure the plating process adds some degree of thickness so taking it back off would probably resolve the issue, which it did. Used it again tonight and the lid now comes off with minimal effort. Good for me, but not everyone has a buffing wheel. You could probably use some rubbing compound and remove the plating by hand, but that shouldn't be necessary to use a product if was designed correctly. Avoid this item if you don't want to mess with having to modify it. B0CTPN2GRP US
