They made some effort to lay the finish on those edges really thick to cover & smooth it, but it doesn't work great. They also replaced some metal parts with really brittle plastic after the instructions were printed. You might as well throw those away, as they'll break during assembly. (No matter -- you're better off using your own staples there anyway.) Similarly, they supply 4 of 6 of the wrong color plastic plugs in order to save supplying two different colors as originally intended. Wherever there is a hole in the wood, intended to accept some fastener (nail or dowel) using an interference fit, the hole is too big and the fastener falls out. There is only overspray of the cherry finish and lacquer inside the cavity -- no attempt was made to spray it in there. The brass finish on the hangar pins was corroded on one side but not the other. No surface prep was performed on the veneer, so wherever it was rough to start, it is still rough, with finish sprayed on it. It looks decent from a distance, and it is sturdier than I anticipated. You won't be passing this on to your children as a fine heirloom, but what can you expect for ~$150? You get what you pay for. B000LRGQ1E US

I also like how the door stays open if you want it to and then it clicks closed when you put it back. I'm not sure why but mine are a bit more frosty and not as clear to see the shoes compared to other pictures. I assume it's because my shoes aren't as colorful to pop out in the case.
