I highly recommend reading the directions before you do your first run. The main level of my home is roughly 1500 square feet. It took a two runs to completely map that level. The app itself, is the link to the vacuums usability. That being said, I feel that is it missing key features that would make it a better , more polished product. 1.area and zones: should be able to designate zones in are mode. Most newer homes like mine have an open floor plan. The Vacuum and app only gave me 3 zones. 2. Custom mode : currently with the custom mode you put a green square over the area you want it to vacuum. You cannot create custom vacuum tasks on a daily timer . And that sucks. You cannot use previous maps over(which also sucks). 3.Map editing needed. You should be able to tweak your map online or via app. The app itself is clean, but really needs more creature features in order for it to be killer. Right now it’s an underdeveloped pain in the butt I’m forced to live with. Maybe it will get better. Back to the vacuum. The 901 does a good job as far as picking up dog hair and dust. It rocks on hardwood and low pile carpet. I had a few hiccups with the unit on some rugs, (Christmas tree runner) and a shag bathroom rug. I really can’t complain about that though because that would have happened with just about any robot vacuum . After it cleans the perimeter of the room or area it snake patterns until it comes across an obstacle, then cleans around it. I ran it on standard mode and it did a well enough job on pickup. My main complaint with the unit would be the battery. It’s not running a lithium battery, and I do hope there would be aftermarket lithium ones available some day. The existing battery is good for about 82 minutes with obstacles, and takes a long time, a really long time to recharge. To sum up it’s a good value for the money, I will probably get one for my upstairs, although the app leaves much to be desired. B07GNPDMRP US

Roomba s9+ 2 Super cool gadget but Not Great/practical JAMME*** I purchased this as I was very happy with the Roomba Jet Mop. First it’s a beautiful piece of equipment. Super Easy to set up. Ap worked flawlessly. Packaging and ergonomic are excellent. I read that this is the best robot vacuum around. Probably right about that. It empties itself which amazing as well. Issues - 1. Takes many many passes to learn a room. 6-8 hours. 2. Leaves lines and circles on the carpet 3. Gets stuck quite a bit. Other issue with all iRobots. Very challenging to add/join rooms. My kitchen took 6-7hrs for the smart map to work. I had to close all the doors to get the kitchen to complete. But then you can’t add the mud room which is next to the kitchen thru a door. I was on the phone with their tech support and they confirmed you can’t add/join maps. That makes it impossible to map a complete floor of the house which is frustrating. RV1001AE 5 Absolutely Worth it!!!!! Kay*** Completely worth the money! The main floor of my house is about 2100 square feet and is mostly thick carpet. Ive been worried about purchasing a robot vacuum because of the thickness of my carpet but it handles it without a problem. I was also completely shocked when it vacuumed my thick bath mat in front of my shower. I can't even vacuum that with the regular vacuum. I have 2 dogs (that live indoors), 4 cats, and 3 horses so hair is constantly getting into my house and I'm pretty sure I shed more than the dogs, so before I used this Shark robot I cleaned every inch of my home. I vacuumed the floors 4 times back to back with my Dyson and I even got the carpet cleaner out which pulled up even more hair. Long story short there shouldn't have been a speck of dust or hair on the floor. I got the shark out of the package. Set up was very simple. After about one hour after the first run, it came back to the base to empty. I grabbed the container to see what all it got and I was blown away. It picked up so much hair and dirt I couldn't believe it! I checked the robot to see how well the "hairless brush roll" actually worked and there was only a few strans of hair right in the center of the brush, I was really impressed. After using it for about 2 weeks the roller never collected more than those few strans right in the center. The only thing I'm not happy with is the mapping, it took about 30 runs to "complete the map" and it doesn't look like my house it seems to be cutting a few corners. But I'm still giving it 5 stars because I'm going to delete the map and let it try again hopefully it will be better. Look at other brands, because this one just doesn't do it for me. It is very frustrating! Overall, we're very happy with this product. The vacuuming feature had worked very well. The mopping is just so-so. Sometimes you just need to scrub a spot. This is more like just running a damp rag over it. Not fully effective. Notwithstanding the positives of the product, the manual is absolutely useless. There is so much that had to be learned by trial and error. The company needs a professional to put together a truly useful operating manual. For instance, in setting up the initial map of the area to be cleaned, there are a lot of told to merge areas, split rooms, but there's nothing to walk you through that process. For a product that has been on the market for so many years and the price of it, you would think; 1) The instruction booklet would be complete with info on the app, where to get it, how to use it and how to set it up. 2) Their website would include all models, 3) the website would have an intuitive flow to it. 3) Customer support would follow through to insure the customer recieved the info they needed.
