The included LED lighting is a great touch, especially because Pantasy incorporated a functional pull chain. Pulling the chain turns the lamp on and off just like a real banker’s lamp, and the mechanism works flawlessly. Just don’t expect it to replace an actual desk lamp—the LED isn’t bright enough for working or reading. I’ve been using mine as a night light, and for that purpose it works very well. My one complaint is with Pantasy’s lighting control system. The main power has to be activated manually using a button on the control box at the rear of the model, and its default state when power is supplied is OFF. That means you can’t simply connect it to a smart plug or remote-controlled outlet and have the lamp automatically turn on. This isn’t unique to this set, and I’d really like to see Pantasy change this on future lighting systems, especially for collectors displaying multiple illuminated sets. There are no minifigures or printed pieces included, but honestly, neither is really needed here. The model itself is the attraction. At around $50, I think this is a very nice display piece and a great addition to Pantasy’s growing retro collection. They can be used for full brightness right out of the package and are also compatible with most LED dimmers to be dimmable from 0 to 100% . They will not produce flicker or buzzing. They can be used in any E12 sockets often found in ceiling fan lights, chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, salt lamps, desk lamps, porch lights, accent lighting, etc. Bear in mind that this is an Edison screw base E12, which cannot be used in an E11, E14, E17 or E26 socket. They cost $19 for three bulbs which equates to $6.33 each. They are clearly more expensive than incandescent candelabra bulbs, however, they use 90% less electricity, produce significantly greater light output and last much longer than legacy technology bulbs. Those three properties mean these will cost less in the long run despite the higher initial purchase price. I really like the look of corn row lights, whether they are E12, E26 or any other sizes. I like them so much that I bought some adapters to use the E12 LEDs in E26 sockets for a smaller bulb that produces more light than the larger bulbs and saves me money on the electric bill. I like the front lip that keeps the glare down. It is a nice height for my desk, extending over the standard height of my 27" monitors. Setup was pretty simple, though it felt weird to be pulling so much power cable through the base and up tube. Regarding operation, it is very simple to use. It remembers whether it was off or on when you unplug it, which is really nice. Cycling through color temperatures is easy and fast. I found that the power button is easy to accidentally bump, since it is capacitive and requires no force to activate. My one complaint is with dimming. You have to press and hold the power button, then wait while it very slowly dims or brightens. There is no indication when it is at its dimmest or brightest setting. This hasn't been much of an issue for me, since I leave the brightness alone, but I have used lamps with dimming that felt a little more intuitive. Overall this is a great lamp. It's actually a very impressive light; making this a great value. My wife had a special goose-neck clamp light on her studio easel that was designed specifically for artists. She got it used and it's a little broken. I expected this light to be disappointing after one that was designed for the purpose of lighting a canvas while painting. Instead, we were wildly impressed. It's actually a little brighter than the highly expensive specialized lamp. In addition, this one provides the versatility of: • Variable brightness • Variable temperature • Variable focus/concentration by arranging the 2 independent wings of light All told, this has been an excellent purchase for an artist. One can only imagine it will work equally well on a desk or workbench.
